'Kick Out Of Life' is a song I wrote a with a band I was in called 'FreeFall'. The song's about someone who is so optimistic about determined to do well in life and enjoy it, that he feels he can overcome anything that put's them down or distresses them. 
The song is completely produced, mixed and mastered by myself and co-wrote with fellow band members; Ashley Shaw (Drums) and Sam Haycocks (Bass).

Kick Out Of Life

This is a simple theme tune I wrote, produced, recorded and mixed for a company called 'Cactus Tongue' to use for a small demonstration video for their bike storage system.
The theme is positive in mood and futures different musical styles such as drums and electric guitars, a melodic string section as well as futures sound in popular electronic music such as white noise sweeps.

Cactus Tongue Theme

'Lost What Matters' is a short composition I've created just to test my self with a different style of music to what I would usually compose for. It's a heavy and sad theme that was wrote simply for fun. I've tried to focus a bit more on the dynamic side of the production as I felt it would benefit the style more, as I have used little compression and tried to contrast the amplitude of different instruments more so than I would usually.

Lost What Matters

This track is an african styled 'drum-only' piece that uses dark and tense themes without any pitched instruments. It combines the use of african djembes which play the main rhythms and ostinato's, orchestral cymbals and percussion which, when combined with heavy delays and reverbs, create atmosphere and support other drums, and toms from a western rock drum kit which drive the whole track and create large dramatic sections.

This piece was inspired heavily by a lot of music found in turn-based RPG's, where little action is happening on-screen meaning the music needs to be 10x more exciting and epic to help grip the player. As well as using fast-paced rhythms to build that excitement, I also wanted to use interesting harmony to build drama and tension, for example I've frequently used minor6th chords and parallel major notes throughout to prevent the harmony sounding too predictable. I've recently been inspired by a lot of music found in Final Fantasy games (especially the battle music from 7) and have always loved the music found in Pokemon games. Thanks to these two franchises, I've been able to give my own spin on this style of video game music.

Battle Of Fantasy

As part of a 'slow themed' Game Jam I was able to design and compose some soft ambience to fit an idle game set in Space. The game is called Planet Sloth and is all about populating a planet full of trees and wildlife and decorating it to your liking, whilst discovering the secret wildlife that inhabits it. Sloth Land - Full Ambience

After listening to a lot of old school Mega Man, Pokemon and Super Mario Music, I decided to try and create music in a similar Chip-Tune style. Whilst this track doesn't follow the same restrictions as a lot of 8/16-bit music that had a limited amount of voices and waveforms to choice from, it does imitate the style with a modern feel and warmth to it from both the composition and production side.

8 - Bit Banger

This music was composed as part of a 24 Hour game Jam.

This music consists of two different tracks. One is a dark, synth-heavy electronic piece that is designed to make you feel uneasy yet ready for action. The other is a more a calm and child-friendly piece that reflects the kind of music you might hear from a nursery rhythm. Both of these tracks were made for a game called Toddler In Trouble, which involves playing as a child that must escape scary ghosts and demons in the night by turning on the lights to turn them into harmless furniture. Both tracks are played horizontally in the game meaning player can switch between the music in the game at any point and the music will feel like the same track but with a different mood.

Toddler In Trouble - Soundtrack (Double Track)

Wrote some music for a small Game Jam. Our game was a choice driven narrative experience in which you play as a figure of power deciding the fate of their country. As you make choices based on question asked by your people, you slowly watch as the future of your city is built from the consequences of your decisions.

The music was heavily inspired by the music from "Please Don't Touch Anything", a game with similar gameplay and themes. It heavily focuses on the layers and sound design behind the synthesised melodies and instruments and creates interest by the constant moving and modulating tracks.
