To celebrate the exam period, I recorded this ditty called SWOT VAC Blues. (Obviously I'm not studying.) The photo is one I took at the Peter Mac Cancer Centre in late 2016.

Dedicated to my love Henry, who's last week it was on earth when I recorded this.

Bertrand Russell's Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy, published 1919. This is Chapter 1. I started reading this book two years ago whilst working a boring job and found it to be absolutely thrilling. The first time I encountered Bertie was at 14 (it was a productive year -- yielding Hendrix, Cream and Billie Holiday too): his History of Western Philosophy. I read bits and pieces of this over the years but few things are for me as gripping as logic and mathematics. This is because they appear to be the foundations upon which all else rests. Know these and you know the mind of God, as I'm sure Max Planck would agree.

Love Is Not All ~ Edna St Vincent Millay

A song I wrote and performed in 2004 under my band, The Human Genome Project. I was really into Erik Satie at the time. The touch-sensitive keyboard in the studio played so beautifully; it was the first time I'd played one. My vocals are shaky because I'm singing for the first time in front of other people... Never had a singing lesson before or since so I was figuring it out as I went along.

The photo is of me in Year 10 at my Hungarian School graduation ceremony. A smug fuck from way back... Also quite Mona Lisa.

What Do You Do

First adventures of Joylon and Lizbeth, two fictional characters (although the former is based on Joylon of Tintin) I invented. They sing songs together. 'Daisy Dunn' is an original song I wrote. Joylon gets more and more drunk as the recording goes on, until he divulges his time with Mrs. Gobblecock.

A soundscape I recorded in Venice, September 2012, at an ice cream parlour on the island of Murano. An accordion player was busking beneath a bridge and it was beautiful.

I do lots of things. This is some of my best musical and spoken word work.

I've played guitar on and off over the years, as a hobby. I started singing at 14 when I first heard Billie Holiday and sang along with her. I've never had lessons. I started playing guitar around the same time ~ both acoustic and electric. I did get guitar lessons here and there. I love voice acting.

I love blues and jazz (Hendrix, Zappa, Miles Davis, John Coltrane) and ethnic music from Ireland, Spain, Hungary, Ethiopia and Turkey. I also love classical music ~ Debussy, Wagner, Bartok, Stravinsky.
