Melbourne all nighters, Chapel St breakfast discos and doof-arenas are Henry Who’s penchant when called to arms. A DJ technically adept as he is versatile, he can be seen with a couple of USBs, or even a tote bag of 45’s residing at Melbourne’s institutional clubs. Showcasing in late night time slots has evolved into support slots alongside DJ Pierre, Matthew Herbert, Toro y Moi, Floating Points and Seth Troxler, as well as big stage presence at events including Piknic Electronik, Babylon Festival, Future Music Festival, Best of Both Sides Festival and S.A.S.H. (SYD).

While broadening his repertoire, Who evolved into roles that link him closer to Melbourne’s electronic music community. You might be that 1 in 3 million that gets a “Lets do it” reply from Henry, fulfilling his role as the Booking Agent for Melbourne’s club Migliore, Revolver Upstairs. He has now founded Revolver's launch into a recording label (Revolver Upstairs Records) working as Label Manager in the world of music distribution.

All Who’s efforts as DJ / Booking Agent / Label Manager are the pillars for Kanvas, an events brand encompassing his 14+ years in the diverse world of music and nightlife, launching in 2020.

We cannot be more thrilled to have this superhuman fly in for our latest guest mix. A legend who has significantly shaped Creatures into what it is today, for which we are eternally grateful.

Creatures Guest Mix 017 ▬ Henry Who - Open

Henry Who is a DJ technically adept as he is versatile. Frequenting late-night time slots has evolved into support slots alongside DJ Pierre, Matthew Herbert, Toro y Moi, Floating Points and Seth Troxler, as well as big stage presence at events including Piknic Electronik, Babylon Festival, Future Music Festival, Best of Both Sides Festival and S.A.S.H. (S.Y.D.). Today, Henry holds probably the most important job in Melbourne music: Booking Agent for Revolver Upstairs. He also oversaw Revolver's record label launch (Revolver Upstairs Records) and added the title of Label Manager to his resume. Here he shows his musical chops with a delectable mix of late-night tracks that is always engaging.

To celebrate the local scene and our 1st birthday, we invited 100 of our favourite Naarm selectors to create a 100-person B2B mix! Entirely made by remote means, each DJ mixes one track to the set and the entire file clocks in at almost 6 hours, showcasing so much of what our scene has to offer. We're so proud to be a part of this community we call home, so here's our gift to you! 🎁

Centuria: 100-Person B2B Mix

Recorded around the time I started playing the sunrise set for The Late Show at Revolver Upstairs. It was, and remains to this day my favourite set to play — transitional in nature, adjoining two different worlds and resulting in a unique energy. This mix is an insight into the music that I was playing in that set at that time; a mixture of Disco, House and Techno in their earlier incarnations, with obvious nods to New York, Chicago and Detroit etc. I think it's aged gracefully despite it's imperfections, more than I can say for the title.

Liquid Breakfasts - November 2010 

Revolver resident of 15 years, Henry Who has long been a staple across a number of our in-house nights and time-slots. Outside of playing he also happens to be our Head of Music overseeing all bookings and the record label as well. This particular mix was recorded live on the sunrise set at The Late Show in October.

Tilt Shift is an Event Brand Managed and Curated by Melbourne Artist Stockholm Syndrome. 

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception.  This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field.  The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to.  This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
