As a follower of Yeshua (Jesus), I am dying daily to my old self as He gently leads me into new pastures of transformation and helps me to see and accept myself as He created me to be, instead of worrying about how the world thinks I should be or look.  

I've been working on this song "Abba" (which means Father) for a few months and have known it goes very deep and hits on some lifelong shadow areas that I have been finding very difficult to release.   I had the opportunity to work with a young cellist from Ellensburg called Jackson Birger on this song, which added lovely texture and sound. He was a bright light for Christ!

As is often the case, I don't truly understand what HaShem is revealing through these songs until I'm ready to hear truth.  What I do know is that He is my Creator, my Redeemer and Divine Architect who lovingly designed me before time began . Through Him all things are possible, which He faithfully demonstrates in so many ways, every day.  So now, through His love and guidance, I can scratch away the outer veneer of my own 'self-made" personal design and facade, that has led to so much discontent and insecurity throughout my life, in order to reveal His design and allow His light to truly shine through me.  Rejoice!

A rhythmic, minor-key sending song based on a quotation of Saint Teresa of Calcutta as I first heard it in a song of folk singer Steve Eulberg. It was written as a sending song for the Not So Churchy (www.notsochurchy.org) community in New York City.

This jazz-inspired Advent song was written on the plains of Southern Ohio last spring and holds an invitation to reflection and wonder. Rather than assume we know who or what is coming (because we often struggle to know ourselves), we are invited to look and listen, to be in the present moment, attentive to where and when Divine will manifest.

Given its flexible, ballad style, the first part of the song is best offered by soloist or choir. But the final phrase (‘waiting, waiting, waiting’) invites the participation of a congregation and could be part of an Advent litany, a prayer response, or candle-lighting.

Waiting

This song frames a question about human formation and our potential for growth and change. It was written in August 2020 as a response to Resmaa Menakem’s writing about somatic healing in "My Grandmother's Hands." I imagine the song as an invitation to settle our bodies and cultivate practices that help us metabolize trauma and pain.

Use a shruti box or drone instrument provide a supportive sound cushion.

Who Are We Becoming

Henta is an English contemporary praise music singer/songwriter, piano teacher and music director at Anamchara Ministries & Monastery who recently became a US Citizen.  Her new album “Rocks in My Shoes” bringing Heaven to Earth in the middle path, featuring Austin & the Avenue and special guests was released on 14th November 2022!.  This is a diverse and nuanced album and offers elements of contemporary worship, folk, gospel, blues and even some brushes with Americana and pop.

The message of this album is about our daily walk, which can often feel uncomfortable to the point of being overwhelming, due to every day challenges. The rocks cause us to be squeezed to test our character, yet as we persevere and endure, the rocks start to get smoother as they are being refined piece by piece into shiny diamonds that become blessings not only to us but to others as well.  

Her previous releases were “Our Town” single featuring Austin & the Avenue, “Rocks in My Shoes” single and “Exodus” the album in 2022 and “Beautiful Creation” album in 2014 which marked the beginning of her journey into Christian worship music and ministry.

Since 2014 she has also written about 20 new praise songs available on CD directly from her website.
