Velvet May, is a Berlin-based musician and voice focusing on New Wave, EBM and Industrial Rock textures.

As a versatile live performer, singer and DJ, he ventures beyond the ordinary, blending experimentation, meticulous sound design, and rhythmic beats that echo the cutting-edge landscapes of electronic music. Our first guest on Heptaseas is NZM99, an artist emerging from the depths of the rave scene, his sound sorcery is driven by dark and acid techno, underlaid with heavy, powerful bass. His electrifying and skillful performances leave crowds spellbound. As the founder of Tjalk Records, a heartfelt tribute to the boat he resides on in Lyon, NZM 99's numerous releases on esteemed labels like Persephonic Sirens, Khoinix, and Flesh Or Die have brought him to international stages, with recent shows in Poland, Germany, and Georgia.
Inspired by legends such as Arnaud Rebotini, The Hacker, Terence Fixmer, and David Carretta, NZM 99's passion for vintage synthesizers has been the driving force behind his artistic journey. Ever since he acquired his first analog machine as a teenager, he has continuously expanded his setup, delivering powerful live performances and mesmerizing DJ sets that blend techno with EBM tones, bewitching dancefloors.

In the next episode of the Heptaseas podcast, we’re excited to welcome Berlin-based techno producer, live act, and DJ Liza Aikin. Known for her half-tempo beats and unique soundscapes, Liza uses field recordings and modular synthesizers in her studio to create tailor-made tracks that capture the sound she was missing on the dancefloor.

Her productions have been released on influential labels such as Mord Records, Emetic, Gegen Records, OBSCUUR, and Voxnox, with remixes featured on Instruments of Discipline and Obscuure. Liza’s music extends beyond techno into experimental electronic realms, and her EP with Monolog on Evar Records, “Until There Was Nothing,” was charted among Bandcamp’s best Dance 12” Singles for June-July 2022.

A regular at Berlin’s Tresor club, Liza Aikin’s DJ sets are known for pushing boundaries—from dark, hard-charged techno to unexpected bass breaks, embodying the powerful and dynamic spirit of the German techno scene. Tune in for a deep dive into Liza’s sound and creative process.

For the third episode of the Heptaseas Podcast Series, we are thrilled to introduce Nitsa, the project of Nino Gokadze from Tbilisi, Georgia. Nitsa’s DJ sets are celebrated for creating an immersive atmosphere, weaving together these varied influences into a compelling sonic journey. With her unique style, Nitsa has become a significant force in shaping the landscape of Tbilisi underground music.

SPLIT#4 is the final release for the 10th anniversary year of the π project, featuring Elements of Joy (a.k.a. UVB) and Stave, both returning to the label after their earlier appearances with PI08 and PI07 respectively. The vinyl release showcases six original tracks—three from each artist—with bonus tracks included in the digital release.

On the A-side, Elements of Joy delivers 3 original tracks of New-Beat leaning techno, including one song that features vocals by Zanias.
The opening track, "Prutaneousa (A1)" connects the dots between his previous entry on the label and this one with the use of retro, 80s inspired vocal samples, but this time on a rather driving beat sequence than an industrial/noise one.
"A Master of Distress (A2)" dives deeper into a hypnotic mood while “Vampiric Habits (A3)” takes it even further to an ethereal atmosphere through the input of Australian vocalist Zanias.

On the B-side, Chicago producer Stave presents his signature hypnotic, broken-beat techno. The side opens with "Weingart (B1)", a characteristically Stave textured track. "900MPH (B2)" combines IDM elements with dynamic broken rhythms, while "Capital, Selves (B3)" blends experimental with Grey Area influences.

The digital release includes two more bonus tracks: an energetic EBM techno piece by Elements of Joy and an atmospheric techno by Stave, completing this diverse split release.

SPLIT#4 is a fitting close to the project's milestone year, celebrating a decade of our π vision.
