'Warmth and Green Water' is the debut album by 'Her Waveform'.

A collection of improvised electronic jam recordings.

Her Waveform started this project with a goal of injecting life into electronic music, while practicing to perform live using only modular synth. This shifted into a collection of improvised techno and ambient electronic works, soaked in experimental sound design.

This project marks the end of their time as a music student during a period of struggle with a partial yet chronic physical disability of their dominant hand. "I couldn't make music any other way. It hurt to play guitar or use a computer. Playing modular synth was the only instrument that took pressure off of my hand. But I fell in love with it."

'Warmth and Green Water' tells a story of mental illness, chronic pain, and substance abuse. Stagnant green water and the warm indulgence.

Glitchy breathing textures and bright, washed-out synths. The project features improvised performances with a 6U/104 HP Eurorack rig, including hard 808 kicks, and granularized vocal samples from a Morphagene. The music was improvised, recorded, and mixed in real time as one take, aiming to capture imperfection.

Welcoming another addition to the ever-growing NHS roster, we introduce the sounds of Matteo Coffetti with an erratic audio collage of sonic madness that toys with the fringes of Latin rhythm patterns and proto-fairy-tale sound palettes into a coagulation of ultra-syncopated bass music.

'Delphinine Capriole' takes form as a significant progression from much of Matteo's previous works through the increased broken sense of flow that can be found on this NHS debut. A seriously vast and intricate universe of sonic motifs and quarks can be found across each track, keeping each piece tightly woven into the last. A garbled sense of playfulness is offset by the fever dream presence that the release conveys so terrifyingly well. Matteo's sound feels like a deconstructed version of a previously existing genre of music from a distant world.

Liminal Reverie

We met Jialing (@pbnstrawberryjam) on New Years Eve Eve 2021 at Bossa Nova Civic Club (as you do). It was like 2am on a Thursday night, mid-way through "Breaks in America" - our first ever dedicated breaks night with @swapmeet and @drvmmy b2b @nickboydnyc . I've got a distinct memory of Jialing introducing herself and saying "I came because you said breaks! I love breaks!" I remember being blown away by her enthusiasm especially considering she was still based in Baltimore back then and was routinely making the trek to NYC for local club nights like ours. Since that night, JIALING's been a wonderfully ever present figure on the NYC dancefloor and in our lives. She's done incredible work in her self-releases in addition to EPs for our friends over at CLASICO and Gallegos' Room Service imprint, appeared on comps from Banana Pudding, Somersault Records, and AYI AYI, and contributed stellar remixes for Honey B, nextdimensional, and 2Lanes. 

Appearing on Sorry Records for the first time, Jialing contributed an instant Sorry classic "Florida Fatality Breaks" remix for our new release from TREKKIE TRAX co-founder @seimei-music . SORRYMIX31 finds her live and direct from Tokyo at a TREKKIE TRAX party on April 27th 2024.

I had so much fun during this set from April, it flew by. I’ve been a fan of Trekkie Trax and was honored to play their show. Seimei and I first met in NY earlier this year when I was writing the Tokyo Funky Breaks remix for his upcoming EP on Sorry Records. It was like meeting my long lost brother, aligning on both music, jokes and fake doraemons. 

One of my favorite (& funny) moments from this mix is dropping Carpainter’s “WAR DUB FROM THE NEW WORLD” and Carpainter encouraging the rewind. It was my first time doing a rewind like that and I had lost the track. Luckily, I found it again without too many issues (you can hear me saying “I can’t find the track” x 5 and then “oh, I found the track!” Reminded me that perfection is boring and deejays are only human :) I was cherish that memory for a long time. Big thanks to Carpainter for mastering this live mix and the entire Trekkie Trax fam <3

Her Waveform, a moniker reflective of infusing life, emotion, and movement into soundscapes.
Works primary with live and improvised modular synthesis techniques, gravitating towards avant-garde techno and electronic ambient genres.

Additionally, they contribute to the 'asquickaspossible' project, crafting unreleased sample-based music and performing eclectic DJ sets.
