Also, the Pixies are one of my old favs, and I always loved Bossanova, and a few songs were named after females, so I've always wanted to write a song with a gals name in it. So there ya go. Thank you Carissa. Even tho we never met, I appreciate your inspiration.

About feeling that I am not able to date these days. Because my parents will always come first. And then my German Shepherd comes next. So any gal is already in 3rd position, and that's just not workable for her. And I totally get it. But IDGAF.

Surprise! Another 1 or maybe 2 nights worth of progress of a song, and there's some fuck ups in the vocal takes but meh. Song has some potential IMHO (I so need to redo Vox and also some of the synth, just to start with).

Possibly will add guitars at some point. Maybe? Then again, part of me thinks this current project should focus on guitar free songs- after all, I have multiple projects currently (most still just concepts in my head lol), so creator of secrets should just stick to non guitar music. Anyways, TBD.

Another 1 or 2 night demo, that I just moved on from. About a gal that I met earlier in Spring 2025 and we finally went on a hiking date/dinner date, and I thought we really clicked, but then we struggled with coordinating a follow-up, and then it just never happened.

Another 1 take Vox, on the night the song it was written. I don't think I ever have revisited this song.

It's about the eventually loss of my parents, which will be absolutely devastating. Because once one of them is gone? I 100% expect the other to check out, because that's the kind of love that they have. They have that rare thing in life, an absolute love for each other, and it's crazy because they are so unique and different. But they just clicked somehow in this crazy thing called life. It's too bad that most never have that kind of love, because the world would be such a different place if that was a thing.

I've seen this idea coming slowly now for years and it's unavoidable- most all of us will eventually have to deal with the loss of parents and its devastating, but I just can't fathom it, nor do I even want to experience life after that. It's a concept and a struggle that has haunted me for at least the past decade. That said, every day with them at this point is such a fucking gift. And I'm thankful for that.

Nerd notes: Damn, I so love the ES1 and ES2 synths that come with Logic Pro, which I used on this song. Those synths stillllll make me smile.

This one is actually from 2010 (hence the project name 'her odd fist'), but I lost the original file at some point over the years. I plan to eventually recreate/rewrite this one. But it's way back in the queue, since I have way too many Logic Projects that need some attention at the moment.

Was crafted about the first woman I dated after the disappointing divorce of 13 years. Great gal, it was never more than a few lunch dates, and then she took a job to NM and I was so bummed out. But reality: I still needed a ton of healing- I just didn't know that yet.

over today

Quick sketch written on the last night of age 53 in December. Drum loop was originally programmed on my Eurorack Modular (which I sold off 9 years ago, sadly. I still miss it.) Literally first take of "Vox", and I kinda figured out the melody on the fly. That's typical for me these days: write some music, loop it, while writing the lyrics in 5mins, then push record as I either sing into my iPhone, or in this case, my MacBook Air's built in mic.

I think the song would be fun to flesh out. I'll probably just start another song instead tho.

A sketch from 15 years ago! The first song I ever did with vocals ("vocals", a term being used loosely). Written due to the end of a 14 year relationship. This song would be fun to redo and flesh out but I have about 150 songs just in Logic Pro format already. So this is probably as good as this will ever get.

Music is a gift to humanity, and it's one thing that I will be able to always count on, until the day I die.
