As a youngster growing up in Long Beach,Ca., Herb was raised hearing the sounds of a vacuum cleaner early Saturday mornings with Motown soul classics blasting away in the background. In 1993, he received his first set of drums and from there, knew "the groove" was inside of him. The bass guitar and trumpet soon followed. Herb then opened himself up to studying various genres of music,(Jazz, Rock, Disco, Fusion ,90s Hip Hop, Indies,Afro Latin/cultural rhythms and indigenous vibes, 80s funk, Motown, Jive, House New Jack Swing, R&B, etc), developing a somewhat "musical well roundedness" in the process.
Now, he uses his musical knowledge to enlighten others in envisioning an alternate sound to what you may hear on todays top 40 radio stations.
