Hercules - Mama Jamaica

Hercules formally known as Jimmy Shandy was born 27 February 1974. He hails from the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica, the birth place of many established reggae and dancehall artists such as Capleton, Lady Saw, Sizzla, Ninja Man and Tanya Stephens.
Like many musicians Hercules fell in love with music from an early age, knocking pans and singing at every given chance.  At age 12 Hercules made his first stage performance at a monthly showcase in bambooaalk, Retreat. From there he went on to perform and network with artists and producers all across Jamaica. At 18 he formed a group with fellow musicians whom he met along his journeys. The group named “Cat Crew" performed together around the island for 2 years before separating.
Hercules then known as Shandy released his first song titled “How To Do It" in 1994, the track was released under the label Diamond Rush Records. Success of the track being played on station such as Irie FM opened doors for Hercules to perform at Ghetto Splash alongside Lady Saw. 
 In 2006, Hercules teamed up Basil Productions; a music production company based in St. Mary, and releases the underground hit “Do Me Right". Other underground hits from Hercules include; "Fakers (released 2007) and “Big It Up" (released 2008).
Hercules is a conscience musician whose music is viewed to be uplifting and motivational, he speaks from his life experiences making his music and sound relatable to the everyday listener. His music tells a message, a message the Hercules will now share with the world.
