Evenin' all, hope you're all alright.  In this edition of Kamikaze...  New grimey witch house sounds from White Ring, some tribal dub from both Shackleton and Demdike Stare, a little gloomy barbershop from Ishman Williams and the William Singers, a bit of yodelling magic from the Dezurik Sisters, a beastly slab of funerial classical swing from Michael Nyman, some drum-belting ramblings from Mr George Coleman, a minimal glitch hop number from Downliners Sekt, a bit of post-punk cover versioning from Anika, sacred harpness from the United Sacred Harp Convention, and last, but by no means least, let me introduce you to the works of Mr Marcus Schmickler if you're not already familiar with the lad.  He's just put out a double album on Editions Mego, called Palace Of Marvels (A Queered Pitch), and I've properly fallen for the thing.  He's had records out before, but I only became aware of him a few weeks back when i was reading through the Norman Records mailout.  I didn't know anything about the Shepherd Tone either, but now I do because this record is Marcus Schmickler's reinterpretation of it.  Quite a special record all in all, and not a bad show either, this one, in spite of my back pain complaints throughout.  Apologies for that.

Greetings all.  If you heard the last show you'll know that I did little but complain about my back throughout, but you'll be pleased to hear it's well on the mend now, and that I've regained at least a smidgen of positivity.  In the show, a total dancehall classic from Tenor Saw, some juke beats from Andrea, a half-step drum and bass monster from Vaccine, a bit of neo-classical prettiness from Hauschka, a bit of proper miserable choral nonsense from George Spangler plus a church-full, another track from those Honest Jons compilations of old East African stuff, another off the excellent Downliners Sekt EP, some hip hop beats from Gaslamp Killer and Mophono, some very strange wonky crack house from Ekoplekz, and one of my favourite tunes ever pressed to wax by McIntorsh and Edwards.  Also, sitting bang in the middle of all of that, a beast of a drone piece from Concern.  All in all not a bad stack of tunes.  Enjoy x
