Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, a weekly mix series showcasing amazing artists from around the world. For the 79th edition, we bring you a mix from Stev Zar.

Stev Zar’s odus operandi is to explore the sonic realms of club music throughout fast-paced genre shifting sets. Via invoking cultural, colourful, chaotic and queer sound through mixing, her body of work is focused on uplifting trans bodies through nightlife and performance. 

Stev Zar also curates parties within the Naarm scene as Umami. Having been active in the scene since 2017, she has performed alongside the likes of Junglepussy, UNiiQU3, Leonce, Dinamarca and Tygapaw and also has operated at Melbourne Music Week, Laneway, Redbull Music Festival, FBi Radio and Triple J.

Her sound includes body-euphoric stylings of percussive drums, ballroom, experimental electro, south side rap, classic acapellas and cinematic scores. Stev’s mantra is to overcome the limit of genre, to highlight appreciation for the godly craft that is music, and to challenge her audience with an atmospheric set that touches your soul.
