You Don't Understand Me

Clip of an instrumental I was working on a few years back. I used to love digging through various pieces of music looking for samples and composing stuff I thought was interesting. Some is very reminiscent of the original pieces, others are almost unrecognizable. None of it seemed appropriate to rap on which was my original intention.

To Good To Miss

Clip from a remix I did of What Becomes Of The Broken-hearted. Chopped the song up a little, reinforced the drums and played a bit with the bass frequencies to make it hit a little harder. Had to play with the pitch in a few places to make it all fit together.

That land of broken hearts

Has kind of a dark, emotional, spacey feel. One of my favorite pieces that I composed back in my early 20's.

Strange Times

One of my few instrumentals that was actually recorded on for an album by my boys from broken records, a hip hop crew I was a part of in my early 20's. Another favourite piece of mine. I think it came out really smooth considering I was completely self taught using with a bit of stolen software and ghetto equipment.

Rizla

All I do is feel the pain. I can't get away from crafting stuff and including at least one vocal sample from the piece. My only regret with this one is not finding a higher quality sample to work from. Well it is all in the past now.. enjoy.

My desire was never to make complete all encompassing music but just to repackage and present a piece of music I really identified with in a different format as a form of self expression.

I worked primarily from Sound Forge for chopping and manipulation and Fruity Loops for sequencing. Samples were derived from a variety of sources. I used to love digging through various pieces of music looking for samples and composing stuff I thought was interesting. Some is very reminiscent of the original pieces, others are almost unrecognizable. None of it seemed appropriate to rap on which was my original intention.  My desire was never to make sophisticated music but just to repackage and present a piece of music I really identified with in a different format as a form of self expression.
