The 30th instalment of the Murder Mix series is curated by Young Dene who hails from TULÍT'A in the Sahtu region of the Dene homeland. He has been a welcome character of the West Coast bass scene for years and recently has been making his mark as a skilled DJ and producer. He's been working on sounds that blend new art forms with northern and ancestral elements, crafting a unique sound rooted in bleeding-edge West Coast bass music. He was just signed to Triple A Agency, a new collective of the west coast's best, so keep your ears peeled for lots of new music soon.

I was so excited for this night. My first time playing Bloom Nightclub in Nelson.  Opened by the Shambhala Music Festival, the talent that has played this venue has been world-class and to be up there on stage was such a blessing.  I was grateful for the opportunity.

I originally collaborated with Magugu on the track Bam bam , I had a extra shout out that said Lock off and dropped it into this DNB bit I was working on , it worked so well and I got Reflektor to Collab on the beat and jake Robertz on the Remix. Then Magugu heard it and did a freestyle over the track which I liked so much I asked if he could record it and we added the extra vocals ,support so far from Sherelle On BBC Radio 1

Power of Darkness was inspired by some of the tougher times and feelings I experienced during the pandemic and the feelings of loss, hopelessness, frustration and missing my old life.  Through it all the highs and deep lows, unexpected twists ultimately finding peace, purpose and determination to make and play music I love to this who will listen to help me stay positive motivated & get through 2020.  With tones and atmospheres derived from dark outer space, deep sub bass, sharp snares, fidget weird noises and cosmic pads this beat keep things trippy, minimal dancefloor friendly and gets straight to the point, get out of my way I’m here to get things moving!
