This short audio demo demonstrates very basic percussive sounds you can get out of the hexinverter.net Galilean Moons when you couple it with a Jupiter Storm Cosmic Noise Oscillator.

Galilean Moons is a eurorack and DIY (do it yourself) analogue synthesizer module from hexinverter.net -- available in December, 2013!

This is by no means the limitation of sounds this powerful combo can create. It is basically a fairly capable dual synthesizer noise/effects voice when you combine the two modules together!

The Mutant Clap is an analogue percussion synthesis module for modular synthesizers. It will be available from hexinverter.net in Fall 2014 in the eurorack modular format. Here is the first sound demo for it!

==Intro==

The TR-909's clap featured one control the user could adjust: volume. That was not okay with us.

I'm a huge fan of house music. I love the 909 clap. So this is a module I agonised over features I wanted it to have for a long time. And here it is. I hope you find it as useful as I do!

====Primary Features====

Just like the other Mutant Drums, the Clap is a highly versatile module. It is actually a voltage controlled LFSR noise oscillator as well as a powerful percussion synthesis engine!

- feature-rich, analogue handclap percussion synthesis reminiscent of the 909 
- pitch control of noise generator means you can create everything from vanilla 909 claps to broken, chiptune-like alien sounds
- doubles as a voltage controlled, Commodore64-sounding noise VCO via the NOISE output and PITCH CV input
- SUSTAIN control lets you crank up the clap's sustain and use the module as an abstract synth voice with external inputs!
- external input allows you to synthesise claps from virtually any sound source you plug in
- built in internal reverb effect derived from clap tone
- reverb decay forms the decay of the clap sound, and is fully voltage controllable from short reverb "snaps" to long, whooshing tails!
- you can select between internal and external noise sources as the source for the reverb sound generation, opening up really interesting sounds 
- DRIVE control lets you dial in anything from clean to extremely overdriven sounds
- bandpass filter cutoff control

Mutant Snare Jam - by Aaron Funk

Richard Devine's demo of the Mutant Snare eurorack module (amongst others). He seems to have made good use of the external input to morph the Snare into something completely different!

His description of the patch:

"I took 5 sources into the external input, and then multiplied the output and fed it back into it self so you get this really hi-fi feedback sound at times. 
Used the Low-Gain Electronics Short Bus V2, with 5 sources running in, then took the summed output back into the Snare to get these glitchy broken like sounds, then slowly opened the decay allowing for more of the external signal coming through and then I flipped the switches to turn on and off different effects.

2. Warps running parasites program 7 delay/feedback
3. Z3000 modulation at low rates (amplitude modulation) audio cutting.
4. FMVDO running modulated high FM, mixed in by hand manually with a intellijel ATT
5. Digital Noise out from the Synthesis Tech e102 quad temporal shifter
I multiplied the output and sent 4 sends to the HexVCA, one out to the Eventide Space, one to the intellijel Spring Ray, and one to Clouds for the granular delay stereo scatters. Being triggered by the Ladik Random R-110, for the long gate holds."

Devine's Mutant Snare Workout

The BD9 can create 909-esque bassdrums. In this sound sample, high DRIVE settings are used to obtain extremely overdriven and hard-hitting bassdrum tones.

Some patch notes from Richard: 

"I was using the Control Forge to go into 8 stage modulation CV shapes, stepping slowly in random order to the Amp decay Pitch etc on the BD9, can get really interesting, made for some serious abstract weirdness. Love it.

I ran the BD9 through the new black hole DSP module by Erica Synths, and the Mutable Instruments Clouds running a unreleased firmware, and finally some Rainmaker X 2 for the snare processing, pitch delays. There is also a bit of Z-DSP, Eventide H9, AD Reverb, OWL, and ErbVerb too. Lots of SFX going on this one"

MINDPHASER Complex Oscillator demo 2

The hexinverter.net Jupiter Storm is a noise oscillator module for analogue modular synthesis. It will be available in the popular eurorack format as well as available in PCB form for DIYers at hexinverter.net

Jupiter Storm is a "cosmic noise oscillator". The name is derived from the fact that it makes otherworldly sounds!

Jupiter Storm does not create pure noise like the vcNOIZ noise oscillator module from hexinverter.net. Rather, it derives what is similar (but not quite) noise from three square wave oscillators in a unique algorithm. Some of the sounds remind me of the sound of a broken radio being blasted with noise from the cosmos, hence, the name "cosmic noise oscillator". This creates noise with significantly harmonic content and other such interesting timbres you will not hear anywhere else!

This module is based entirely around analogue opamps and discrete logic. No microcontrollers are used in the design.
