While lost in the nightmarish dreamscape of broken promises, littered with perverted images of love, Chris Nine found himself surrounded by the the haunting melody that would inspire the electric and powerful vocal line of dreameater; Shadowed by the backdrop of disillusioned hopes, Chris relentlessly fights to find himself again amidst the rubble of truth and lies, searching anxiously and religiously to reclaim self worth and his inner fire. The blending of heavy rock and emo-esque vocals that seem to rise with inner self belief and resiliency. A breakup song, nightshade is inspired by past tales of love’s double edged sword; Nine’s anxious mind seemingly projects nightshades - a beautiful, yet deadly flower on blank walls.

Nightshade brings listeners the nostalgic, high-energy pop-punk sound from the early 2000’s, with influences of blink-182, Panic! at the Disco and The Veronicas.

I wrote this song after waking up from the worst dream; remembering, they cheated. I don't need anyone else to hold me up; I don’t need the bullshit. I’ll hold myself up because I’m finally backing myself.

Ambient acoustic layers give way to a storm of guttural screams and climactic percussion, echoing influences like BMTH's "It Never Ends". "The harsh sounds of 2020 pandemic ringing in his ear, Chris Nine reinvented himself into a form of genuine expression and emotion through his initial EP release of the Heavy (2021); earning him respect in the Toronto music scene as the rebellious emo rock songwriter. 

Still not satisfied, Nine turned around with songs like dreameater and nightshade (2022), exploring the harsher electric sounds of his voice and writing style earning him radio slots, public success and individual growth. P

Post hardship with the desire and need to reinvent once again Nine felt the need to evolve once more. Armed now with razor blade like vocals Nine, adorned his new debut release of fatal (2023) as the fry screaming, switch swinging vocalist. Gaining success with new fans within the emo, metalcore genre. 

Now finding stride and his sound as the metalcore vocalist, guitarist and songwriter, Chris Nine now screams, sever the threads that bind you. Threads (2024) yet again took himself to online success, amazing 1800 monthly listeners and alongside another massive spike in fans. 

Chris Nine creates the outlet for others struggling with desperation, loss and the desire to face adversity. Alongside close friends like head banging drummer Jordan Mason, and thrashy bassist Drake Metcalf, the Chris Nine team takes stages such as El Mocambo and Sneaky Dee’s alike by storm and almost unnatural force.
