I wrote this song on the 20th of March this year and recorded it in the month that followed. This song holds pure rage, regret, and realizing patterns embedded in your past that you thought you broke off from but they find you in every new step that you take. And with that, putting an end to them.

I wrote this song earlier this year. It’s about an unlikely love affair between two sources that keep running away from each other just to always find their way back to one another. The sea seeks solace from the shore just to find that it doesn’t feel the same as it felt when with the peaks. And that’s okay. I’ve learnt to realise it doesn’t have to. Sometimes unlikely love stories are the strongest.

I was supposed to find a suitable quote to start with like I did to describe the last eight emotions I’ve put up here. I didn’t start this series and explain what I was trying to really do because I thought it was something personal but over the course of this year I’ve learnt to be more open and to say whatever I really want to. These 9 covers are supposed to represent 9 emotions, 9 colours, starting from black to red to the other end of the spectrum containing violet and landing on white which is nothing but a collection of all of them. Honestly, I’ve spent a lifetime thinking you have to close chapters to get to the next one and I was compartmentalising phases in my life with songs and art not realising they all intertwine together. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you’re trying attain ‘happiness’ by thinking it’ll be a blank slate - a fresh start, it’ll be quite the opposite. Happiness is the first time you got off that bathroom floor and wiped your tears away even if it was temporary, it’s the constant process of finding love and letting it go. Still loving them from a far world, it’s in flowers, pink skies, blue birds, seeing someone you love smile, first kiss with someone and the last hug, splashed paints, song notes, kittens and butterflies, seeing life for the first time; for the power to create absolutely anything was always in your hands and your minds are nothing but a system of stars trying to find a way to summarise the universe at once. Find yourselves in the seas, the hills, the grass, the stars are yours. I’ve felt as tiny as an atom and as large as a multiverse and I’ve learnt to feel powerful as both. The world needs love, start with loving yourself first. And hopefully, you’ll know when to radiate it outward.

I've Danced with the Devil

I’m glad you stumbled on to my profile and a little surprised that you want to know about me but, Hiii, I’m mehr! I’m merely a collection of words and colours and I spend a lot of time trying to find ways to express it. I’ve been song-writing since I was 10 - been singing for even longer, I produce my own music because it’s exciting to see your words come to life! I find myself in the seas, trees, mountains and the winds and I’m learning to love and be more human every day. I hope you find a fragment of yourself in my music :) x
