Wrote this after having to move back home suddenly in 2019. I felt out of place in my hometown, no friends, in between jobs, got kicked out, I mean like, fuck. Shit was just shit. I wrote this song in half an hour after coming home from a shift working at Outback. Recorded it in 2020 and wanted to put it out sooner but the guy I had planned to originally feature on it flaked on me after I shared I was nonbinary. I never put it out (clearly) and I never finished working on it, but this opportunity got me excited for a chance to collaborate with an artist I've admired since I was a teenager!

(so random but this might be my only time to tell you this. For my 18th birthday, 8/08/2015, my mom surprised me with tickets to see you, J. Cole, and Lion Babe in D.C. Your show was on U Street in this cute lounge and a nigga almost died in her first mosh pit lmfaooooooo. You were performing U Mad and I got knocked in the middle somehow, hit the floor and just started screaming cuz all these boys were jumping on me hype asf! You stopped the show for like, 5 seconds, cuz I think you heard something (probably me) but I stopped screaming when you cut the music. So it was dead silent for a few seconds and then you went right back to the song and bro lmfaoooooo. Niggas was STOMPING me and my friend had to yank me up. Shit was absolutely horrifying in the moment, but looking back, shit is HILARIOUS because that was my introduction to concert culture (though I know not all concerts get like that).

Thank you for contributing to the soundtrack of my adolescence. It's been really incredible watching you as you navigate this adult shit. Shit is shit, but we still push.)
