They say good things come to those who wait and that is exactly the case here as Amsterdam based live act VNTM embarks on the journey for his first vinyl EP. The four track exploration lands September 8th on the acclaimed ARTS RECORDS, a label playing home to innovative techno and refined sounds from the underground. Across the “Dissonance Is Bliss” release VNTM addresses a series of dark and mysterious moods, wandering through the hazy hours of the night with this series of peak time action, seeing the Dutch artist explore uncharted territory in terms of vibe. The 12” EP will also come with two digital bonus tracks available via Bandcamp.

Opener “Remembrance” is a chugging outing crafted upon dusty broken drums, deep and emotional but packs a serious punch. Next up is “Breaching” driven with a thunderous kick from the word go. As the track progresses atmospheric synths and pads bubble around the body of the beat, a pure connection is created. 

The title track “Dissonance Is Bliss” is a six minute whirlwind trip, spiralling chords work their way around the forward motion of the record, creating a sense of freedom. A track of importance to him as an artist, playing with the animated dissonant chords, and realising his sound sits balanced between the melodic and techno sounds which make up his spectrum, and within this he finds bliss, being in the middle of it all at one with himself.  “Continuity” again allows VNTM to express his depth of sound, but the strong and infectious force of the EP is there to stay. 

There will be two tracks available digitally, “Colundi” teases you down a path of industrial curiosity, enormous sounds creating a concrete jungle on the floor, tensions rise throughout the track creating a distinct energy, and then “Tuesday Rain”, showcasing another side to his bag, mellow tinges flash throughout, simmering as it moves but never getting carried away. 

The news of the sought after EP coincides with VNTM’s forthcoming US tour which will see him land in LA, San Francisco, and Burning Man. Alongside performing in Europeans hotspots the thriving talent continues to push his Mindscape concept and event series with the next stop being ADE, working hand in hand with Len Faki and his Figure label for a night at Shelter. 

VNTM steering his sound in a new direction but maintains the key melodies at the heart of his work, always challenging himself as a producer and live performer, always offering something original to his audience.
