うわー！これは音源欲しかった＞＜

Fela Kuti is one of my all-time favorite artist, both for his immense musical legacy, but also for his humanist political message. 

Here is a rework I dared to make of one of his last song, O.D.O.O. (overtake don't overtake overtake), released in 1989.

As much as I love the intense groove emanating from this almost 32mn-long track, I also find it particularly interesting as it's a kind of condensed summary of Fela's decades-long political fight. 

In this song he references in a kind of endless mashup some of his most famous tracks like "Zombie", "Shuffering and Shmiling", "Kalakuta Show" or "Unknown Soldier", to once again denounce the fake post-war emancipations of many African countries from colonies to military-led regimes pretending to be democracies.  

Hope you'll enjoy this condensed housy take, but whether you do or not, I guarantee you should take 32 minutes of your time to dig into the timeless original if you're not familiar with It already.

Other than the release of "If You Want It feat. TeN" from the HMV Record Shop, most recently rework of Emily Kano "Friday Night -HF International MIX-", Rework of So Nice "Light Speed ​​Road", Lemon FEAT. I am working on such things.

The song was recorded on the compilation album "Claremont Editions" of Paul Murphy's label Claremont56 released on February 28, 2020, and made his UK debut.
