"When I picked records and songs for this mix I wanted to include a lot of tracks that are timeless and not trendy. Important tracks are in my arsenal of music. I don’t own CDJs so I did the mix on my 1200s. These songs kind of reflect the epitome of the sound in an underground party, from any era. I ended the mix with an old Get F*cked track, because I love that record, and it's perfect for closing out a party or a mix. Nathan Coles and I have been homies for over 20 years. I recorded the mix a few weeks before passed and it makes the mix mean something more to me than just doing a cool DJ mix. RIP Nathan Coles, I always share the gifts you gave us in the form of music, and you will live on thru the hundreds of songs."

Eric Galaviz (Denver, CO) and Brian Varga (San Diego,CA), better known as the DJ / Producer duo Hipp-E and Halo, joined forces 13 years ago after realizing they shared many common musical interests. Even their earlier days of collaboration as H-Foundation yielded some of the most influential tracks like “Here Dis Sound” and “Tonight” from their famed “Environments LP.”

H-Foundation quickly became internationally known for their unique dub-influenced sound that transcended the house genre. What followed was a list of accolades that put them at the top of the heap as both DJs and Producers. Catapulted to fame with exposure from UK Legends Pete Tong and Carl Cox, a long standing residency at Fabric (London) and work with respected labels like Moody, Siesta, NRK and Soma have kept them in high demand on the touring front and in the studio.

After years of collaboration with great success, the duo decided to shift their focus to their individual pursuits of personal life goals.

Reinvigorated, matured and inspired by the very interests that brought them together years ago, Hipp-E and Halo are once again creating sophisticated ground-breaking sounds that will influence the direction of organic house & techno in the years to come. With releases expected on Halo’s own label Surface as well as Tsuba, One Records and Left Room the bar is raised yet again.

US homeboys Hipp-e & Halo , aka H Foundation, have been dedicated to making heavenly house since 1989. One of our best references to the magic of their timeless house grooves can be found in their fabric 07 mix which to this day still packs an emotional punch. After years of collaboration that yielded fantastic success and a torrent of releases on Soma Quality Recordings, Low Pressings and Siesta Music, the duo have been busy concentrating on their own music projects and personal life goals, including Halo’s own label Surface Recordings and Hipp-e’s production company, ROOTS and its growing party arm.

This is a mix I found on an old hard drive from 2012 that I never got round to sharing… when house was tech and tech was house and deep house was deep, you get where I’m heading. Anyway, I’m dedicating it to my amazing unique Uncle Pete… RIP.. who’s funeral was just the other day and I could not attend due to this shit show sandwich we’re all in right now. It’s  little deep, a little Jazzy.. but I think Uncle Pete would have approved in parts.. he was a proper dude and we’ll miss him very very much! Dedicated to the Greatest Uncle in the world…. And aptly named! For Pete’s Sake :) xxx

H-Foundation is the legendary DJ and production duo, Hipp-e and Halo. Founded in the late 90s, Eric Galaviz (Hipp-E) and Brian Varga (Halo) took their West Coast house and techno inspirations and created a unique dub-influenced sound that transformed the music scene and helped birth today’s tech house genre. Tracks such as “Hear Dis Sound” and “Tonight” catapulted H-Foundation to the top of the music scene, garnering accolades from Pete Tong and Carl Cox, and landing a long-standing residency at London’s famed Fabric night club.

After years of success, the pair decided to part ways to focus on individual pursuits and life goals. But, in 2020, after years of personal and spiritual growth, H-Foundation is back together, rejuvenated and reinvigorated more than ever. Inspired by the same interests that brought these two friends together two decades ago, Hipp-E and Halo are in the studio again creating sophisticated, ground-breaking rhythms and sound. With a release planned for DJ and tastemaker Yousef’s Circus label in early 2020 and plans to align with top labels such as Crosstown Rebels & Muted Noise, H-Foundation is poised to push forward the direction of organic house and techno for years to come.
