Fledgling London-based producer Malfie returns to Robsoul for a fourth dispatch, adding to his burgeoning discography with another package of funk-heavy, toughed-out, street-influenced House.
The Groove Story EP opens with the cantering, slow and low Odd Flip. A shuffling groove with cut’n’splice aesthetics at its heart, sporting soulful vocal runs and radiant vibes.
The title track comes with bottom-heavy kick drums and pulsing, rolling basslines in a decisively 90’s feel-good tone, while closer Feelin Good does exactly what it says on the tin. Boosting the mood with its finely tuned filters and French Touch bump.

Mid February will see Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse imprint return with The Checkup ft. Lifford’s ‘What Happened’, accompanied by a Soledrifter remix.

Brussels based artist Raphael Pujol aka The Checkup has been releasing an authentic brand of house music since 2014 via the likes of Large Music, King Street and BEEF Records. Here we see
Raphael add yet another leading House imprint to his affiliations, namely Madhouse Records an undisputed home for legitimate house sounds founded by Kerri Chandler in 1992.

Opening is the original mix of ‘What Happened’ featuring the soulful vocal stylings of London’s Lifford running alongside a New Jersey rhythmic swing, a solid square wave bass stabs and classic
chord stab sequences. A ‘Dub’ mix is offered up to follow, laying the focus solely on the powerful rhythms and soulful vibe.

Closing the package is Soledrifter’s take on ‘What Happened’ which strips back the vibe to sparse percussive hits while bringing an acid-tinged bass hook, ethereal pads sweeps and swirling snippets of the original vocal into the limelight.

4Tek returns to Pogo House Records for Release 195 and brings the 'Dirty Talk' EP, 4 cuts of deep melodic pleasure.    
First up, it’s the title track 'Dirty Talk' and 4Tek opts for a Garage House number consisting of elegant piano keys, garage stabs and a smoothly rendered bassline. 4tek then cranks it up a notch on the second track 'Yeah that’s me'  by introducing seductive vocals over a slick bassline that's complemented by loose percussion arrangements.  
‘No words’ is the title of the third track and on this 4Tek delivers raw beats coupled with strings, keys and flutes which creates a real elevated energy and vibe.  

Lastly, 'Scuba Duba' goes deep, immersively deep and 4Tek really shines here with atmospheric pads vocals that are reminiscent of  David Byrne on the 2002 club hit 'Lazy', furthermore, it gives off a nice relaxed vibe on this track. That’s not all though because there’s also a  subtle nod to the amen break in the drums, we love the amen break it’s awesome!
