While Byron The Aquarius clearly understands the rules of classic house and techno, he’s never afraid to have fun with them and get irreverent. That combination of form and playfulness has caught the attention of an entire scene: the Alabama native has already released projects on prestigious labels like Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature, BBE and Shall Not Fade. On Not My Cellphone!!!, his first Fool’s Gold EP, Byron flips and dissects a few hilarious vocal samples over some deep percussive grooves. The prolific multi-instrumentalist and producer shows an impressive sense of restraint, while still letting his humor shine through.
