‘Matter’ is the fantastic new single from Ambassadeurs that sees him collaborate with one of the UK’s hottest talents in underground music, soulful electronica vocalist - Marin. 

This isn’t their first rodeo, having collaborated on Marin’s recent critically acclaimed ‘Only Echoes’ EP which made waves in the online press world with support from the likes of Clash, The 405 and Dummy. This new track seems destined to make a similar impact and has just received a radio premiere from the Godfather of dance music – Pete Tong himself… 

The production sees Ambassadeurs create a beautiful eastern influenced backdrop adorned with guzheng, zither and a host of plucked string flourishes over soft synths and brooding bass. Marin’s reverb drenched vocal glides effortlessly across the beat as the lyrics meditate on a love that perhaps just isn’t meant to be…

I've been experimenting with different live setups lately and this is one of the recordings I made. I'm not entirely happy how the recording turned out and wanted to redo it (accidentely recorded it to one stereo track so I couldn't change anything about the mix either), I never got the same atmosphere again though.
A new minimal ambient/drone album is in the works, by the way.

Setup: Synth and Flute loops on the Zoom R8, a MFB Microzwerg Bass layered with a Microkorg Pad -> Tascam 4-track tape recorder with a (mono) FX loop consisting of a Monotron Delay and an EHX Hog. Everything recorded straight to one stereo tape track, later overdubbed another microkorg pad.

'Unique Koda Mix' (2 hours) | Hidden Gems #2

Written and produced between 2019 and 2020, Dario Lupo's latest album, "Harmony", is a slow and evolving ambient journey through self-awareness.

With a mixture of retro artifacts, contemporary instruments and evolving sci-fi inspired soundscapes, this release focuses on Dario's inner search for simplicity.

Dario's words:

"The idea of this album is not too abstract, it's really all about my inner self. It's very much connected to my everyday situations and efforts as an individual and artist, including the time I spent working on the album itself.
