Second edition of my special “Fingerman ♥'s” DJ mixes showcasing on individual artists, edits and record labels. This week’s guest on the Good Custard Mixtape is New Delhi-based DJ, producer, and label head Hamza Rahimtula, a pioneer in India’s electronic music scene. 

Known for his fusion of deep house with global rhythms, Hamza has carved a unique space, drawing inspiration from underground dance legends like Danny Tenaglia and DJ Heather. 

Through his label, Wind Horse, and his acclaimed Banjara album series, Hamza has gained international recognition, blending world music with electronic production. He’s released on top labels like Kompakt and King Street Sounds, and his dynamic DJ sets span continents, now featuring live collaborations with talented musicians.

No special guest this week, just myself Pete Ellison for two hours of funky disco goodness. The first hour was recorded Live, and the second hour was a guest mix I did for another radio show, Space Jams Radiom which is hosted by DJ Jack Dyson who was a guest on my show recently.

First 45 minutes was all styles before settling at 100 bpm (ish) for the rest of the session.

when disco gets better than porn

I was one of the resident djs at the Mushroom Jazz party back in the 90's. It was a memorable weekly event that was part of the burgeoning Acid Jazz scene in San Francisco. On June 15, 2016,  I had the pleasure of playing at Mushroom Jazz (which was a monthly event at Monarch) and this is my recorded set. Thank you to Mark Farina and Monarch for having me out to play...

I’ve played a lot of places so far this year - Sydney, Bangkok, Beijing, Singapore, London, NYC, DC, Detroit, LA, London, Paris, Madrid, Cornwall and of course Dundee amongst others. But next week I am headed to Love International Festival in Croatia and I am really excited to be playing there for the first time. 

Even better I am playing an all day session with two of my favs Ray Mang and Joutro Mundo down The Olive Grove. I’ve played with these two belters in clubs, warehouses, beach parties and boat parties over the last few years. I love their music and love playing and hanging with them. I can’t wait. The vibes will be strong. 

It will also be the last gig for a month or so as I am taking a break to do some other stuff. And it seems right to finish at Love International as it is such a crazy gathering of DJs and party people from around the world in the beautiful setting of Tisno. 

So anyway I decided to throw a mix together as I've not done one for a while that is packed full of the tunes that have done it for me so far this year (and some old ones that still do) and which weaves together special dance floor moments from all those places I have visited so far this year into something I hope will please your ears and maybe make you want to dance.
