xenonyms is happy to present Nebulae Nursery (Part II), the awe-inspiring conclusion of Charles Taciturn’s most recent artistic endeavor.

A few words from Charles:
"The second half of this album was, again, written during quarantine. Unlike the first, though, I not only had more time to spend contemplating, but more time to devote to the album as well. The songs here I spent more time building, I think, stronger and more intricate melodies and structures.

The album itself is again one which, now as a whole, I want to exist solely on its own without context. So much of what is going on undoubtedly influences your work, but I don't believe one needs to necessarily share their contexts; and perhaps, sometimes, they should go unknown altogether."

Lazarus is back on Shaw Cuts with ”The Rescue“, a swashbuckling tale of sheer heroism, revolutionary sentiment and resistance in the face of oppression. 
Following the fall of the Sung Dynasty, minister Wen, who pens a patriotic song to inspire the nation, is imprisoned by the conquering Mongols. Sung patriots plot to free the lord from the Celestial Prison by having themselves arrested and a spy release them once inside. But the prison general sets a deadly trap. „Harbinger“, its heavy drums, mystic pads and untamed spirit perfectly describes the menacing scene inside the prison. 
With the help of free-spirited hero Le Heru, patriot Bai Yaerh escapes the carnage. With more fighters in tow, he returns to the prison with a new plan to tunnel underground. Yet this too is a cunning trap that forces Le Heru to cover up the heroes’ escape. The intense buildup of „Light The Torch“ with its echoing chords and noisy elements, invigorates and drives the pack forward. 
After convincing a Mongol-raised guard captain to join them, the patriots make a last attempt to save lord Wen by posing as Mongols and slipping into the jail. They finally reach Wen who has starved himself to death. The shifting drums and emotional synths of „Sinus Node“ sets the serene tone needed to compensate for the loss, signaling a promising new dawn. 
The legion finds hope while battling out of the prison to preserve the moving song the minister composed before his demise. „Cyto“ and its melancholic mood filled with revolving breaks, powerful arpeggios and shimmering drums, leads to a shocking and disturbing end that is hard to handle…

In the darkness they prepared themselves for the battle ahead. What little resources they had left they stockpiled in a safe place, guarded by those who were considered too weak to fight on the field. As soon as the sun reared its head on the horizon, the enemy would soon be on the move and time would be against them. Rumours had reached them that the opposition's army far outweighed their own but they had something to fight for that the others didn't; this battle was for everyone, it was for humanity. 

In June Brighton-based Scotsman Kutkh Jackdaw contributed a dark, industrial rhythmic cut to Medellin-based label Sonidos Subterraneos' compilation Estado De Golpe, a release aimed at raising awareness of and rejecting all forms of abuse, with profits being donated to social work causes. As a follow up to the track, Kutkh invited fellow Brighton producer Movement to put his own spin on it, and that he did, twisting the original into a heady 2-step remix that calls to mind artists and labels of the pre-dubstep era like El-B, Horsepower Productions and Digital Mystikz.

Producer and DJ, based in Moscow. She has been producing music for about 13 years, she has been DJing for 3 years. She has releases on Genot Centre, Edited Arts, Internetghetto, Raw Russian. She creates experimental club bass music. As DJ Lyudmila prefers experimental club music, mostly deconstructed club and bass music, uk funky, also r’n’b and latina. She performed in Mutabor, RNDM, K-30, GES-2. 

In Festina Lente, she broadcasts the sound that is relevant to her in 2023. In the program she will share the changes in experimental club music that she is tracking. In the first issue of the review of 2022, there are several older tracks that still sound progressive.

The canal was like the veins of the city, passing life between the cells of the system which was swarmed and swamped by people in towerblocks and on high streets. This place was special, it was an escape from the struggle and strife of city living. A chance for something new...

Cong Burn is a record label perhaps underestimated, it has been an outlet for intricate experimentation and has been responsible for the release of music by the likes of Lanark Artefax, BFTT, Howes, Chekov and more. Hidden Element is electronic act from Kyiv, Ukraine. By blending elements of breakbeat, techno and ambient, producer Igor Kirilenko creates forward-thinking music with shifty rhythms, cinematic samples and deep textures. Inspired by classic sci-fi movies, it’s a perfect soundtrack both for crowded ecstatic club nights and solitary mind-wandering.

Igor began releasing tracks as Hidden Element in 2011, firstly as a duo with Nil Tarasov, and now as a solo project. Over the years he released music on various labels including Med School, Pinecone Moonshine, Alphacut, Silent Season, YUKU. 

Project’s track “I See The Light” (feat. Kiyomi Yamashita) was noted by DJ Mag as “Track of the Month”. Track “Reload, Replay” was played by Steve Lamacq on BBC1Xtra. Debut LP “Together” released on Absys Records in 2016 received a number of positive reviews and warm feedback from El Hornet (Pendulum), Ulrich Schnauss and other producers. 

Hidden Element also created official remixes for a variety of artists, from British drum’n’bass legend London Elektricity to Ukrainian pop-singer and Eurovision winner Jamala.

In 2020–2021 Hidden Element manifested a new ambitious chapter with EP trilogy “Comparisons” / “Kontinuum” / “Cycles”. Packed with intense contemporary breakbeat and seasoned with high class remixes from Throwing Snow, Andre Bratten, Prayer, Cocktail Party Effect, these EPs earned praise from Mixmag Japan, Mixmag UK, Mixmag Brazil, BARKS, Qetic, Inverted Audio etc. A bunch of tracks from the trilogy was also aired on BBC Radio 1 in numerous guest mixes.
