H.I.D.E. is a rock band founded by three promising youths back in 2005. The three man ensemble back then composed a band of rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocals. Though these four elements of music seemed sufficient for playing cover music and having fun at start, it became apparent that a lead guitarist was lacking. A search started, and the man for the job was found soon enough. Now that the four piece band finally was gathered, the band name was created and defined; Hanse In Disguise Experiment - which abbreviates down to the four letters - serves as a tribute to a dedicated musical instructor. This particular instructor is highly skilled in his devotion, consisting predominantly of guitar mastery. Ever since the days of elementary school and up until now, this man has followed as an idol and an important source of inspiration. Practice facilities were shabby and limited at start, but improved as time went by. During practice, strong creativity and energy govern, though humor is also an important factor; laughter and joy are often to be observed. Though the humor exercised may seem offbeat to some, it strengthens group solidarity and provides the band with something of their own (which can be interpreted from some of the lyrics). Gig activity and general band activity have been quite limited the past couple of years [referring mainly to 2008 and 2009], due to forced military service for several members. Still participations, at “Malvik Rock” (in Ytre Malvik Samfunnshus), “Ungdommens Kulturmønstring (UKM)” (advanced to the next stage in 2007) and a few other gigs have been met - in addition to the recording of one demo tape (each with three tracks) each year since and including 2008. In 2010 participations at both Bandkrieg and Malvik Rock were met. Musical production: evidently, five demo tapes have been composed and recorded up until today (in addition to a sessions tape in the beginning of 2011) - the first in June 2008 (in "Trondheim Studio", Nedre Bakklandet - Trondheim, mixed and engineered by Conor Patrick), with the tracks: "Almost Over", "Haunting Me", and "Hanserana"; the second in late July 2009 (in "Skansen Lydstudio", Lade - Trondheim, mixed and engineered by Stein Bratland), with the tracks: "Living For It", "Walk the Rest Alone", and "Master's Armor"; the third in mid-June 2010 (in "Spiren Studio", Rognes - Midtre Gauldal, mixed and engineered by Kristian Moan), with the tracks: "Madman", "Midnight Promenade", and "Losing Your Identity"; the sessions tape in January 2011 (at "Vikhammer Musikkskole", Vikhammer - Malvik, mixed and engineered by Henrik Karlsvik), with the tracks: "From the Sky" and "Bomringen"; the fourth in mid-June 2011 (again in "Skansen Lydstudio", Lade - Trondheim, mixed and engineered by Stein Bratland), with the tracks: "Run Away", "You Deserve To Die", and "If Only Just For A Moment"; the fifth in late July 2012 (in "Spiren Studio", Rognes - Midtre Gauldal, mixed and engineered by Stian Kjelstad Granmo, assisted by Kristian Moan and Christian Skorstad), with the tracks: "Ambivalence", "Fire! Fire!", and "Engine Burning". With each demo recording feeding three tracks, and the sessions tape two, a total of 17, recorded and self-composed songs, is measured for H.I.D.E. this far (hopefully with more to come). In the summer of 2011 bassist Jo Hallvard Nasvik parted with the band. Shortly thereafter, a replacement was found in Gard Storvik.
