Featuring special guest Damon Burke on guitar! What started out as an impromptu funk jam was transformed with Damon's help. The bass is an early-'70s Fender Telecaster Bass with Alembic Activator pickups. The bass was refinished and rewired by Krishna Jain.

Recorded with the Telecaster Bass, played with a pick, adjusted the Alembic filter throughout the piece so that the bass sound is totally different by the end. All the twists and turns between the bass and drums were totally improvised – nothing was planned. Rhodes tracks overdubbed later.

Recorded at a recent jam session - the full-band mix was being tweaked as I recorded it into my portable recorder - also there are some drop-outs/noise, etc. - so a lot of the audio is from a separate recording I did of just my bass, sometimes being manipulated with an Alembic SF-2 Superfilter.

Here's a REALLY "old" one! This must be from around 2003 or so - the second recording session at Oxbow Studios - came in with a sketch, a week or two later in Berkeley with a Moog and there's a song! I played my Gibson EB-2 bass with fuzz and Greg DeGuglielmo is playing drums, Micromoog overdubs by hieronymous.
