High Hoops presents a compilation of electronic tracks from artists across the globe to celebrate 10 years of ‘love on the dance floor’ and to raise funds for three amazing charities.

Proceeds from this compilation will be shared with the LGBT Foundation, Mermaids and Meningitis now, in memory of our friends Ash, Alex T and Willow.

A huge thank you to all of our friends and artists that have contributed their time and energy in supporting the creation of this incredible album of music.

"I’ve been in San Francisco for the last 7 years, but originally from the surrounding Bay Area. Being Irish and Persian, the cultures were both heavily incorporated with dancing so it only makes sense that I found myself interested in dance music as an adult. I started djing about 5 years ago, but I feel only in the last year and a half have I started taking it more seriously. I hold a monthly residency on HydeFM, a sick community based radio station in the heart of our city. I feel so proud to be a part of HydeFm because of their unwavering commitment to give a platform to many artists here and far. On my show Siah Shekar, which means ‘black sugar’ in Farsi, I mostly play in the realm of house music. I love that Hyde gives me full reign to play whatever I want, so my shows could be anything from DnB, to Street soul & hip hop, or UKG and 2 step. I like to change things up a lot, but my baseline is 90s house and breaks.

Whenever I record a mix I try to just portray how I’m feeling. Im feeling pretty hopeful about the approaching summer and some relief from the heaviness covid has brought. So this mix is some something to make you feel just that. We will dance again very very very soon. I can feel it 🙃"

Isle of Wax is a Hamburg formed DJ collective consisting of four music lovers Davin, Gilberto, Naama, and Kevin. Active since 2014, the crew explores dance music in all its groovy, quirky, and obscure notions by organising events and parties in some of Hamburg’s venues such as Golden Pudel Club, unearthing and rediscovering musical gems on their Instagram and YouTube channels, and inviting other DJs for their Isle of Wax mix series.

Bringing in the likes of Eris Drew, Powder and DJ Sprinkles to the city, the residents and co-founders Robbie and Marcos have a natural born love for all things electronic and all things queer, with this latest mix conveying their smokey, sleaze-filled sound that you can regularly hear on the dance floor of the White Hotel at one of their parties.

131bpm is a dance-floor trouble maker.

Constantly evolving musically, he is making a name for himself as a DJ and producer known for his signature booty boppin’ and back breaking rhythms. Influenced by various electronic music sub-genres like vocal house, Detroit classic electro-breaks, 90s progressive and Latin music, his sets are always sweaty and sexy, scattered with catchy basslines, nasty vocals and bouncy percussions.

He became a resident at the party Vitamina in Milan in 2018 and recently released his first album in August 2023 on Body Language’s label -party in Berlin where he is also a resident playing regularly since 2022.

Sam is the founder and a resident at https://soundcloud.com/pumpingvelvet, a London-based Queer dance party that takes place bi-monthly at LGBTQ+ venue Dalston Superstore.

Sam grew up in London, his tastes moulded by the city’s diverse dance music scenes: from childhood trips to Notting Hill Carnival, to formative dancefloor experiences at nights like FWD, Trash and Süd Electronic. He brings these influences to his DJing in sets that span a broad gamut of genres, tied together by a love for big drums, pop melodies and sleaze.   

Frustrated by the lack of queer spaces where you could hear both a Svek record and Kylie in the same night, Sam founded Pumping Velvet in 2018, driven by the firm belief that any barriers erected between pop and ‘serious’ dance music are entirely artificial and that there’s no such thing as a guilty pleasure. It’s this same ethos and disregard for boundaries that makes his DJ so thrilling.

Tokyo Horoki (Tokyo wanderings) is a collection of tracks from pleasure cruiser's last two years living in Ota-Ku, Tokyo. 

The first part features tracks recorded with Shinichiro Yokota featuring vocals from Ayako Higa, Chara and Wakana hrt. 

Part two features collaborations with Okayama upstart Keita Sano.

Whilst moving from London to Manchester, and throwing their 4-year anniversary party, our friends, promoters and DJs, @high-hoops , still managed to kindly squeeze out this mix for us. Formed in 2015, High Hoops (Robbie and Marcos) are the Manchester-based party starters pushing for love and inclusivity on UK dance floors.

Offering a hedonistic blend of house, disco, techno, electro (and the rest), the duo have shared the decks with the likes of Ben UFO and Palms Trax, and booked names like DJ Sprinkles, Honey Dijon, Peach and Omar S to play their notorious parties in Manchester & Salford.

Serving trippy acid, emotional breaks and chaotic jungle, LA based artist https://soundcloud.com/one-child-policy steps up for the latest addition of heat in our mix series.

One Child Policy is the solo moniker of 曹偌伟/Dennis Ruowei Cao - producer, DJ, & sound designer. He was raised by two electronics engineers who were brought up in China; they sparked his fascination with electronic music at a very early age. 
His breakthrough debut ─ Cultural Transmissions ─ released in Nov 2017 touched on leftfield house, garage, electro, acid and techno. It was well-received by the likes of Mixmag, Resident Advisor and XLR8R. Since then he's already released on labels such as Black Lodge, Guangzhou Underground and Arca's Mutants Mixtape series.

Marking the number 50 milestone in our mix series with one of our favourite producers/DJs at the minute https://soundcloud.com/djdjcity ✨ get ready for a Berlin tinged sleaze-fest to transport you back to a dark and sweaty dance floor.

DJ City recently stepped out of the Stockholm underground and into the world with a number of releases on labels like Born Free, Cocktail d'Amore and Public Possession. His style is romantic, often referencing Italo and sounds of Chicago, sometimes even with a hint of eurodisco. In his lyrics however, he tends to describe the easy jet-set world of clubbing as we knew it before lockdown, with drugs, sex and dark dance floors.
