We asked our friend and alumni HCL Sponsored Artist, Joe Miller (aka Joe BBall) to create a special summer mix to thank the supporters who donated to our Kickstarter in June. Thanks to you we will be installing a new vinyl floor in our studio at MAMA Contemporary! We love you! We hope you'll enjoy this summertime mix as much as we do.

The Joe Miller aka Joe BBALL is a visual artist and music enthusiast born and raised in Chicago, IL. He began providing musical environments on WLUW's Crucial Rhythms in 2010 with Rad Brian Chankin. His "arrangements" were looked at as audio diary entries, encapsulating a very personal entry point to the world he lives in. His sound and influences range widely from the irregular and ambient soundscapes of Phillip Stone, Kid Pigeon and Ilija Rudman, melded with a combination of his own found audio and field recordings. His most recent body of work, BALL DON'T LIE, is a series of short pieces compiled while working and traveling outside of the Chicagoland.

K-rAd (composed of High Concept Labs Sponsored Artist Mark Hardy and sound engineer and electronic musician Chris Grabowski) from Synthari Sessions in the HCL studio on June 16, 2016.

Mark and Chris have been collaborating since roughly 1998 and the Synthari Sessions are another chapter in their work together. K-rAd’s custom-built modular synthesizers are a natural companion to Mark Hardy’s traditional sitar-playing, and in every Synthtari Session, music of the Future and music of the Past combines into the music of Now.
