Joris Voorn and Paul van Dyk lead the pack clamouring for equinøx’s ‘Tear Apart/‘The Answer’: six minutes of mystical, tech-stimulated progressive later, and the reaction to ‘Mesmerize’ will doubtless be the same. It’s a classic game of contrasts – light and dark, weightless and intense - where digital raindrops are swept along by turbo injected chord changes, measuring the exact distance between a black hole and the final frontier.
