10 years on from the conception of Outtallectuals in the form of a Facebook community, we're delighted to still be here, finetuning the label's signature sound in a never-ending global creative soup.

Accordingly, 'Liminal Lore' celebrates OUTTA's first decade through a predictably collaborative roster, featuring the label regulars, as well as new contributors such as Bulgarian legends, Ivan Shopov and Theodossii Spassov, cinematic bass producer, Boketto, the deep ambient psychedelic dub techno duo of Arkaean and Unsung I, and POAN, Lo.Renzo's ambient side project with Giacomo Barbari.

The concept of 'Lore' is sonified through the 'old world' influences of the album; through the sounds of nature, bulbul tarang, banjo, g clarinet, darbuka, hang drum, sarangi, slide guitars, violins, flutes & tribal percussions. 'Liminality' is, of course, through the celebration of a shifting decade, an in-between milestone for the label.

As everyone knows by now, a terrible war is taking place in Ukraine. We are neither billionaires, nor soldiers, nor political leaders, nor NATO decision makers, nor superheroes, ...nor NGOs. We are only musicians and artists from different backgrounds (France, United States, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Belgium) and, unfortunately, we have neither the means to stop the war, nor to support each person in difficulty. Even if we frankly deplore it, we can at least try to support, on our scale and directly our Ukrainian family, the artists' collective and music label "Modern Stalking Audio" (based mostly in Kharkiv), by giving them the means to get to safety, and to provide for their basic needs in these incredibly difficult times.
 
Normally, these beautiful beings give everything they have to organize quality events and fight to enhance culture in Ukraine. 
We are several artists, present on this compilation, to have noticed it when we were invited to perform there, in Kharkiv, Odessa, sometimes even several times for some.

Today, most of our friends are either refugees where they can (with a ban on men aged 18-60 leaving the territory), or fighting in their own way and helping, at the risk of their lives, in the big cities and borders. 

After having helped them according to our means, we release this compilation for all those who wish to support them. Every donation, even the smallest, will be welcome. We do not pretend (and do not have the means) to do a work comparable to the Red Cross or other NGOs, However, all the gains resulting from these steps will be transferred directly by bank transfer to our friends to help them on our scale, just like those resulting from the associated Gofundme. 

 "A drop of water in an ocean... but what is an ocean if not a multitude of drops"...  

It should also be noted that the international humanitarian aid remains for the moment essentially at the border and does not arrive (or very little) in the big cities which are under the bombardments...

What will the funds from this various artists' compilation and fund be used for? 

Humanitarian needs: rental of temporary accommodation; food in the current conditions of food shortage during this period of war and post-war (bread, chocolate, vegetables, fruits, etc.) ; medicines to keep people and their loved ones healthy; essential products for babies and young children (baby food, child care products, etc.); expenses for evacuation services (public transport tickets, private drivers, accommodation in host countries, etc.).

Argo - Combine (High Dude Remix)

"Waterboarding is a form of torture, more specifically a type of water torture, in which water is poured over a cloth covering the face and breathing passages of an immobilized captive, causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning."

In the first part of the song, the victim is drowned by intermittent (which is represented by bubbles and mid/low movements in breaks). In the second part, the victim is under the water without intermittent, which is represented by the presence of bubbles and "pressure elements" over the whole drop.

"Is dystopia necessarily a fiction? Are the drifts of Adam Smith's doctrine a true nightmare at the beginning of the twenty-first century? Should we limit dystopian perspectives to post-modern issues? Why is a majority of the human species always inclined to passively undergo to some form of tyrannical domination, as La Boetie wrote more than five centuries ago? Should we eternally warn and point out the disastrous consequences of ideologies on Man and on nature?

As I sink into the infinite, gradually and methodically deconstructing the traditions and beliefs which has been inculcated to me, weight of past centuries, appears to me an obviousness whose simplicity forms a deep contrast with these dialectical questions: the civilization in which I’m evolving is sick. She seems to want to persist in her unreason. The beauty I envisioned in the world is fading away. I am paralyzed by this terrifying world where horror has no limit. Where man exploits man, crushes him under a mighty iron boot. Forever: it existed before me; it will continue after my short journey here. I study with passion the complex mechanisms of the industrial society, the Industrial system. The vision of superiority of the white European and his will to conquer the world. Black slavery; then, the slavery of all, without distinction of color. From the miserable child in a factory of a trans-national firm at the other end of the world, to the "rich" adult in an open-space office in the Western World. Mental slavery, the worst of all. I think about the movie My dinner with Andre, and the destabilizing idea of guardians-inmates in the new concentration camps, the big urban centers, condemned to a perpetual state of schizophrenia (Schizophrenic Culture EP).

I watch the individuals who struggle all their lives to defend their ideals. I observe how the political and economic powers tend to silence or recover them for their own benefit, in order to maintain their position of domination. Ah, power is cursed! Can humanity ever evolve and come out of its weak instincts? Individuals seem rare nowadays ... vision of the mind?

I wish I had a positive weight in this world! Wake up and raise awareness. It seems so difficult to make a change. The latter is so subtle, so slow (Leverage)! Nothing, on the other hand, proves that the latter can’t be abolished again. I would like to have a positive influence on the world, and on a smaller scale, on the people around me and those who will cross my path. It’s by my will and only her that I can think the change! Beyond the political and economic powers that seek to govern our lives, I must fight against myself, regain possession of myself! Only by example will the change happen. Yes! I will be this change! I, who dream only of fraternity, of creation, of love.

Presenting 'Industrial System'; an experimental dubstep track taken from High Dude(@highdudes)’s first EP with Outtallectuals after a series of singles and compilation contributions.

The three track 'Dystopia' EP displays the artist’s signature take on deep dubstep music, presenting a unique blend of textural field recording-based percussions, atmospheric ambiance and relentlessly heavy yet deep basslines. Conceptually, the crushing weight of this EP is inspired from the artist’s grasp on modern totalitarian governance systems. Backed by an academic PhD, High Dude continues to sonificate his sonic creations through a multi-layered and rebellious philosophy, as can be heard through this EP’s calm yet monumental density and read about in more detail in the artist’s mission statement below.
