YYARD, also known as Yannis Anft from Cologne, brings his unique blend of musical styles to the forefront with the ‚San Astéria EP‘. This ninth release on our label infuses traditional breakbeats with dub and hip-hop influences.
Opening with ‚Swallow,‘ the EP sets an enchanting tone, featuring intricate synth sequences and rhythmic mastery that showcase YYARD‘s jazz influences. Following this mesmerizing start, the title track ‚San Astéria‘ offers a smoother, spheric vibe with its dub-infused beats and jazzy harmonies, creating a dreamy auditory landscape. The energy shifts with ‚Leisure Spleen,‘ which creates an irresistibly groovy atmosphere that makes it impossible not to move. Concluding the journey, ‚A Circle with Many Centers‘ wraps up the EP with its broad, expansive soundscape, where tribal drums meet dubby synths. This EP not only highlights YYARD’s diverse musical talents but also promises a deeply engaging listening experience.

About YYARD:
YYARD represents a musical project of pianist, keyboarder and producer Yannis Anft with roots in Cologne and Berlin. Anft draws inspiration from his many years of experience as a jazz pianist, dancing through nights in clubs and his enthusiasm for other genres of music and art forms.
The soundscape of YYARD‘s productions is characterized by playful textures, pulsating and driving grooves, as well as a loving and detailed sound design. Tempos and genre play a subordinate role. Anft tries to give the listener access to a world of his own, in which you can lose yourself on the dance floor. Also in his DJ sets Anft puts a lot of emphasis on the creation of a welcoming and open vibe, which he creates through the accurately selected tracks from the field of House, Techno or Breakbeat.
Born in 1993, Anft started playing the piano at the age of 11. From 2013 to 2019, he studied jazz piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, with teachers such as Hubert Nuss and Jürgen Friedrich. Since then he has been active as a pianist, keyboardist and producer. In addition to engagements in numerous side projects based in various genres, he names Hip Hop/Neo Soul act SALOMEA and his own project Delusional Mind as his main projects.
Concerts brought him to stages in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Denmark, Morocco and Slovenia.

Through the poplars, different echoes resonate.
Those old roots are already tired of the concrete jungles, of the indiscriminate usurpation of what once belonged to everyone, and of that trivial exploitation of the eternal for the most ephemeral purposes that so abound.
Does no one see the inherent brilliance in each moment, the hidden magic behind every 'simple' act? It is in that glow, behind the mirror, where the true reality hides, and no one seems to want to notice it; no one wants to see beyond their own reflection.
Or so it seemed. Little by little, curiosity, for lack of a better resource and having already discarded the rest of the options, seems to be having an effect on the disoriented masses in search of a direction. And while many have already dared to look and have even been on this side for a long time, there had never been an interest of this magnitude.
God is dead, the poets exclaim, and it must be because of this that the illusory balance that sustained banal existence lost its unstable stability.
For those who know how to listen, the trumpets that announce the coming of a different panorama resonate, where the old values ​​are no longer of any use.
Perhaps the poets are right.
Perhaps it was that old center that sought to give meaning to what has none, that with symbols tried to represent the greatest of abstractions, which retained a species with as much potential as can be imagined.
Will the news that the poets so much announce and that the trumpets keep exposing to the ears of those who are well attached to the greatest of illusions ever arrive? Will those deaf ears want to hear it?
It's just a matter of waiting and dancing, to the rhythm of the moon, while we do so. Thus leaving them, at least, a small trace of what it feels like to dwell behind the almost imperceptible veil that separates us.

Elle aime construire des sets progressifs et éclectiques, alternant entre ambiances joyeuses & taquines, et moments de grande intensité et de lâcher-prise.
JOIA est résidente chez BAE party et développe un projet de hybrid live dj set aux côtés du percussionniste Anas.

Pour ce podcast, elle a dresse une progression aux allures "d'éveil tropical", d’une blague entre potes, ou d’un après-midi à Pe:rsona. La rythmique au premier rôle, quelques fois plutôt surprenante voire comique, ce set entre deep techno, dubstep et bass music (entre autres) est à écouter en tout lieu et à tout moment !
