In 2002, Johnny Cashcovered "Hurt" to commercial and critical acclaim.

This is a Musical representation of The Xerographic process.
Where the charging of wires and the control of chaos across an air gap is finally controlled and transferred to a sheet of paper. The man who invented the xerographic process was also a craftsman who made musical instruments and played most of them.

I think this is a beat. At least it started as a beat. I had a drum pattern with some quirky foley sounds and then a synth melody. It was a loop, then I set-out to arrange it as a beat, but then I added some more flavour to the chords in the B section and then I started feeling like a synth solo and then it became this thing. I'm still calling it a beat. Beat I.

The assignment was to score a 60 second short film.  I chose to use 60 seconds of Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest".  This is the airplane scene and starts as soon as the bus pulls away.  I thought it was cool so I wanted to share.
