MXCHRD makes their debut on High Key Records with the ethereal, percussive, Nova. The track opens with a nostalgic vinyl crackle and swelling pads which fill the air before falling away to delicately chopped wooden foley, providing a percussive groove sure to have people moving. The vocals sampled from folk duo The Staves are recontextualised amidst bright pads and warm rolling bass which make for an emotive and transcendent experience. 🌦️

At just 19(!), MXCHRD aka Shay is definitely one to watch! Releasing their first album Watch Over Me whilst still in college, Shay came out the gate with moody production reminiscent of Burial and Zomby. Their second EP ‘Love Shuffle’ upped the ante with highly danceable percy shufflers and club ready bangers. We first met Shay when they played at our High Key Social open decks, and we are sure we will be seeing them shelling down dance floors everywhere very soon. Watch this space! ⚡
