A moment that feels real yet slips away the closer you reach for it – like a mirage shimmering on the horizon.

This track reflects that sensation – warm, progressive layers flowing endlessly, carried by subtle rhythms that blur the line between dream and reality.

For me, this track captures the feeling of a quiet night drive on an empty highway, where the lights, reflections, and thoughts merge into one continuous stream.

The latest release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine White finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Lucas Rossi's 'Systematic' EP. Originally released in May of 2019 on parent label Dopamine Music, the four-track showcase found the Argentinean artist presenting some of his finest ever work. Now looking to bring new life to the project, Dopamine White invites Mariano Favre, Weird Sounding Dude, Li-Polymer and Yashar to re-imagine the tracks for 2020. 

First up and making his label debut is Mariano Favre who provides a stunning interpretation of the title track 'Systematic'. The Argentinean boasts an impressive discography highlighted by releases on 3rd Avenue, Asymmetric Recordings and Balkan Connection. Now bringing his remixing prowess to Dopamine White, the Rosario resident brings a pure progressive vibe to 'Systematic'. Full, warm and undeniably powerful; it's bulbous low end, haunting vocals and driving percussion provide the framework for moments of impassioned energy. Icy atmospherics, delicate pianos and a wealth of cosmic concepts make this a more than worthy complement to the original. 

Next up and also making his label debut is Weird Sounding Dude who re-interprets 'Dynamo'. The Indian artist has been enjoying his best and perhaps most prolific year to date. Releases for Balkan Connection, Eat My Hat Music and Kindisch have all been sensational. Most recently the Bangalore resident gave us one of the summer's best remixes with his take on Carlos Tk's 'Hope' courtesy of Transensations. Now continuing a great 2020, Weird Sounding Dude puts a unique twist on 'Dynamo'. The groove gets reworked into something a bit chunkier while a complement of emotive arps, misty atmospheres and organic percussion fill in the framework. Tastefully melodic, the Indian artist opts for a sleek yet powerful approach, building tension subtly across the main break through timely modulation, before melting down into a groovy drop and uplifting finale. 

Sitting at the heart of Portugal's electronic music culture is Li-Polymer. The Funchal resident has continued to delight progressive music fans with his deep, organic sound which has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Beat Boutique, ICONYC and Soundteller Records. Now making his Dopamine White debut Li-Polymer turns in a stellar rendition of 'Unexpected'. Smooth, percussive and rhythmically buoyant, it's electric cadence may be its strongest suit. Charming atmospheres and redolent shades set the backdrop for a narrative of melodic clusters and organic drums, before an expansive break brings a sense of calm to the spirited journey. 

Rounding out the release is label artist Yashar who returns for his third appearance. The Iranian producer is fresh off his 2020 Dopamine White offerings 'Aphrodite' and 'Chronos', while also making a contribution to the tenth installment of Soundteller's popular 'Vibrant Vibeland' series. Now delivering his first remix for Dopamine White Yashar caps of the release with his interpretation of 'Kaleidoscope'. Drawing on the sensibilities of the original the Iranian artist leans closer to peak time, with a full groove and robust rhythmic core. Striking effects and hypnotic arps sit amidst a layer of atmospheric tension, perfectly setting up an emotive break and groovy finale. An excellent remix from Yashar which caps off an excellent remix edition for Lucas Rossi's 'Systematic' EP.

Seeking to reimagine music from his eclectic repertoire in a neo-classical context, Iranian producer Amirali marks a triumphant return with the release of his ‘Sokoot’ EP, alongside the world class soloists of Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, one of the top 10 philharmonic orchestras in the world. Set for release on 29th September and translating as ‘Silence’ in Farsi, the 3 tracks are designed to have a connection with our current state: When the virus hit, the world went silent. “I composed these pieces with my dear friend Jakob Eisenbach who was also the conductor for the Tonhalle concert in Zurich”, he explains. “The 1st piece ’Dystopia’ expresses the current chaotic state the world is facing; the virus, corruption, constant war and global warming, but I always like to think there’s light at the end of the tunnel in order to stay sane. The second piece ‘Resurrected’ shows a new beginning; a coming back to life. Maybe it’s about myself after being away for a while. The 3rd and final piece ‘Dismantle The Sun’ is a reset to everything. Imagine if there was a push button for that.” These names are not just symbolic, but also show his current state of mind when working on them, and the final orchestrations result in something extremely powerful, cinematic and emotional.

Amirali emerged from the Crosstown Rebels camp in 2012, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship on his dynamic pop-infused bomb of a debut ‘In Time.’ Captivating the dancefloor with a seductive concoction of weird and groovy, it presented the multi-faceted producer as the new voice in dance music, effortlessly blurring the line of techno, disco, funk and electronica. Described as “one of the brightest jewels in electronic music” by Mixmag, ‘In Time’ also won praise from the likes of Resident Advisor, NPR, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music, cementing his place in dance music’s new elite.

The global response to the album allowed Amirali to tour extensively, undertaking a heavy schedule from Fabric and The Warehouse Project in the UK, to Vienna Opera House, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and Warung & D-Edge in Brazil to name but a few. Since then, fired by the need to innovate artistically, Amirali decided to take a break from touring and submerge himself within the process again. Nearly a decade later he returns with an arsenal of new material set for release over the next year. For now, we are left with beautifully jagged and unnerving sounds of ‘Sokoot’, a thought-provoking collection of tracks that seemingly ebb and flow with intention and force, almost like a virus does.
