Zenaari's Podcast is back with a very special number, and this one’s from German juggernaut Efdemin. Phillip Sollmann’s nefarious allonym claims a well-deserved space on many a record cover and many a flyer. So large is his footprint that now, years since he first picked up a piece of hardware, or even started building his own, he’s largely liberated from the real world constraints many younger artists face. With nothing left to prove, and all this newfound freedom comes the space to truly probe the possibilities of sound in all its dimensions. This method is tried and tested (think 2019’s New Atlantis), but with each passing year the road travelled gets longer and no less full of surprises. It’s all down to his highly personal and off-centre approach - to be sure, he’s just as comfortable with feel-good techno (and his unconventional treatments make an appearance there too), but the real magic happens without preconceived ideas about genre or format, and the result is both organic and capable of opening doors no-one ever knew existed. Zenaari Mix 013 is a mind-maze in sound, from gentle piano and theremin allusions, to spoken narratives and dialogues that anticipate the world to come, and of course, there are Sollmann’s beloved bells. This is fresh ground trodden, Efdemin bravely charging into the unknown, a strange and spiritual palette of sounds from one of electronic music’s most iconoclastic figures.

After a short sunstroke and a well-needed pause, we're gently dusting off the Aquatic Gardens series to make way for its 29th bloom, one that's both fierce and grounding.

This time, the invitation goes to our dear friend @oliver-sj-lund, an Amsterdam local with roots all the way North, and a founding pillar of Noord Space, where countless memories and frequencies have echoed into the day and night. Also known as the digging mind behind Forgotten Tracks, his sonic vocabulary is built on wax and whispers, always pointing toward the rare and the precious.

For this mix, @oliver-sj-lund takes us on a techno-forward path - sharp, deep, and carefully sewn together. It's a ride that cuts through the post-heatwave haze and carves a powerful opening into the weekend.

Strap in, dive deep - the garden is in motion again.

Here’s the recording of my eclectic DJ set from Friday evening at Monument Festival 2024. Played during a golden sunset on a warm, beautiful Norwegian summer night in early August, the vibe was pure magic. This set blends dubby deep house, rominimal, house, and tech house — a journey through grooves and textures tailored for that perfect transition from day to night.

The Bunker Podcast 235 comes from @erikluebs. This is a live set recorded in Milan on March 28 at the party Acquario.

Erik Luebs is a US-born musician and sound designer based in Japan. Eschewing typical genre tropes, Luebs approaches techno with a playfully disruptive technique, reinterpreting the fundamentals using built-from-scratch patches and labyrinthine sequencing. While the labor-intensive process is inspired by a wide range of luminaries such as Mark Fell and Rrose, the resulting music is firmly tied to the dance floor.

Luebs released an EP on The Bunker back in 2021, and has since released on DJ Nobu’s Bitta label (@djnobu_bitta), and @nousklaeraudio. He also has an upcoming release on the legendary @kompakt imprint.

Erik will be playing an ambisonic surround sound set for a horizontal audience at Going In at Reforestor’s Laboratory in Brooklyn this Friday, and an extended sunrise dancefloor set at The Bunker’s takeover of @nowadaysnyc Nonstop on Sunday morning.
