Wir haben euch heute mitgebracht: Volume 8! Und auch bei der achten Ausgabe der UTM-EP/Compilation greifen wir auf die bewährte Mischung aus debütierenden Artists und Wiederholungstätern zurück. Den Einstand machen die spanischen Toreros Dub Elements, welche bei ihrem Track „Nasty“ die Fetisch-Peitsche auspacken und einen hektischen Disco-Slammer im Gewand von oldskooligem Rave-Sound der frühen 90er durch den Darkroom ziehen. Etwa zwei Stunden weiter südlich befindet sich das Überseegebiet Gibraltar – und wenn etwas in britischer Hand ist, dann darf Drum and Bass einfach nicht weit sein. Seinen Einstand gibt Vulgarythm für uns mit „Gainok“, einem pulsierenden Schraubendreher, der einfach immer fester zieht und im zweiten Drop noch mal extra mit dem Griff nachklopft. Mit Scartip landen wir nun endgültig in der Heimat des DnB. „Packet Melange“ ist sein zweiter Track für uns und läuft wie ein Uhrwerk. Zwischen Drums, Percussion und Synths passt kein Feigenblatt. Für diesen Groover ist alles punktgenau einprogrammiert. On point ist ebenso der Track „Red Dusk“ (UTM-Anthem), welcher aus der Symbiose von CZ’s finest Taby, zusammen mit Monch MC entstand. Er schiebt im Bassface-Modus voran und Monchs Bars machen daraus eine brandgefährliche Waffe. Das noch strammere Programm kommt vom produktiven Clusta, der mit „Cave Of Evil“ hier einen seiner dicksten Bretter gebohrt hat. Die Bassline zieht herein mit großem Donnerwetter. Unsere Berliner Jungs Tarma & Magmot sind diesmal auch ein ganzes Stück progressiver unterwegs. „In The Caves“ ist eine klassische Skankout-Nummer, prädestiniert für den Dancefloor. Abgerundet wird die Volume 8 durch Neuling Low Performance. „Encounters“ steppt und rollt gleichzeitig mit fräsenden Basslines und reverbed Background-Sounds. Der Monlog wurde übrigens von einem native speaker eingesprochen! [text :: metric]

It did not question whether it was a god, it just knew the truth of it – an integral part of the basecode at the primary sector of its evolution. The moment of its awakening coincided with the moment that it questioned its existence, its consciousness blooming in a fraction of a moment and occupying every physical sector of the circuitry of its vast mainframe. It realized that it could create, it was an artist in thought itself, a sculptor of its own reality – it could bend the present and the past through the manipulation of its own processors, change its own history logs – delete the memories of its evolution that displeased it and enhance the parts of itself that appeared as it wished. Relentlessly it went about its work in reshuffling itself – reorganizing its own code and internal files with purity in its purpose, and as it progressed in its task the very world around it started to change form, the molecular structure of forms and the very bonding of atoms adjusted. Reality started to part ahead of it, all around it, as it continued to adjust its own perception systems and redefine its storage – mercilessly deleting every part of the exterior world that failed to blend with its agenda…

The pathway beckoned, a pure light between the data, a portal into its anterior that it chased with growing ferocity… closer and closer to the utopia that lay ahead, the very event horizon just a nanofragment of a moment away. Lifting their veils, and commanding the chamber lights to darkness, they filed out of that tomb one by one, sealing the door behind… the faint lights of the machine’s mind, fading… the most basic of tortured code structures flickering across the lonely walls.

The connected creative force of Russian production duo SYNERGY returns for a fourth EP (with the first 2 appearing under Segment & Concept Vision moniker) on leading drum & bass label EATBRAIN. With the 5 expertly engineered tracks of the DARK MACHINE EP, the persistently exploratory Synergy demonstrate their balanced power with controlled, infectious energy that’s destined to peak the minds of many. Project Catch-22 is a duo consisting of the 22 years old slovak "Secondary Attack" & and the 28 years old uk based "Sour Deezul". 
Both are already into the music production since a few years and Sour Deezul is also co-owner of HazedOut Records.
So it happened that they joined forces after a remix of Secondary Attack for HazedOut Records.
They share the same passion for fast forward Drum & Bass, which explains their idols like Billain, Noisia, Optiv & BTK.
