Ah, Vienna.

Full of parks, schnitzels, cathedrals, a theme park, museums, rivers and canals, amazing food, some of the world's best vineyards and an infrastructure to put most cities to shame. It's the City Of Dreams after Sigmund Freud called it home and invented psychoanalysis there, and it's also the City Of Music having had both Beethoven and Mozart as inhabitants.

And now, it's also the birthplace of two absolute primetime weapons grade bangers (which in itself is a synonym for a fat juicy Viennese sausage, go figure) in the form of Eternity and Adrenaline Rush, concocted by highly promising Austrian prodigy Manta. Sure, Beethoven and Mozart were amazing musicians but they couldn't synthesise a snare to save their lives so in our opinion they've got nothing on Manta.

Hear them, be amazed by them, play them, support them, shout them out, enjoy them and most importantly: do so while eating unnecessary amounts of schnitzel. Manta is going places so be sure to keep a close eye on him!

Within the palm of the galaxy’s outstretched arms lies a veritable jewel of a world, supporting a rich and eclectic biosphere filled with both flora and fauna blessed with preternatural abilities by the benevolent grace of cosmic luck. Their homeworld’s existence within concentric rings of galactic and solar habitable zones bestows these beings with a countenance of primal grandeur, setting them apart from the other species spread across the galaxy on account of the singular strangeness of their existence. Chief amongst the denizens of this distant world is the spectacular Kahnao, a quadrupedal beast known for bearing forth a most sonorous vocalization.

With a snout resembling the brass horn instruments often found amongst the ancient cultures of humanoid worlds, the Kahnao’s facade hints immediately to the viewer about its primary purpose. With their population spread in small groups across the vast savannas of their homeworlds, the Kahnao have developed a method of communication that allows them to send messages across distances unmatched by the inborn abilities of any galactic species. Thanks to a vocal tract that runs almost the entire length of their bodies, the Kahnao are able to generate infrasonic frequencies that are amplified as they resonate along the string-like appendages that protrude from their mouths. The subtle differences in the bodies of each member of the species create a different chordal signature, a harmony unique to their form that serves as a communicative signature, identifying them to others across the endless grassland expanses of their home. It is said that when the Kahnao herds speak to each other in their great assemblies the entire planet’s surface reverberates in response, as these unique LIFEFORMS create a sonic experience that is without equal anywhere else within the galaxy.

L 33 returns to EATBRAIN with four alien sonic sequences that are replete with thunderous low-end frequencies which call the label’s widespread horde to attention before his latest offering, an EP that he titles “LIFEFORMS”. Within, the EATBRAIN veteran charts new territory for his productions while continuing to deliver the signature sonics that found him purchase on the label many orbital cycles ago, delivering a novel twist on his much beloved stylistic center across the EP’s four tracks.

Volatile Cycle, a name that is becoming firmly cemented into the upper echelons of cutting edge drum and bass is taking the scene by storm with their take on the darker end of the drum and bass spectrum. Consisting of 2 members, Dan Lawrence and James Chick, they began experimenting individually with genres such as garage and glitch hop and eventually found their niche in drum and bass. Building up their rep with a slew of releases on a number of reputable drum and bass outputs, they have worked 
their way up through the ranks to finally drop their debut LP on the seminal and beloved label Renegade Hardware. The Reaktiv LP is a masterclass in drum and music, showcasing their highly refined technical ability, yet still retaining the classic style reminiscent of the early Hardware days. Opening track ‘Wrench’ sets the tone, cutting through with razor sharp precision, whilst ‘Reckless’ and ‘Obey’ dominate the dancefloor with pulsating sub frequencies and rattling percussions. Newcomer to the scene Yen joins forces to unleash sinister undertones with ‘Forgotten Future’, whilst Russian neurofunk whizz Cod3x teams up with the duo to kill the dance with ‘Bounce. Nuklear MC puts his lyrical stamp on the track ‘Status’, a stripped back roller designed to cause maximum dancefloor damage. The Reaktiv LP is a huge milestone for Volatile Cycle. Showcasing their production chops, yet demonstrating an impressive degree of

We have been maintaining the portal between universes continuously over the years since the discovery. The existence of the twin universe made it possible for us to release the infamous material collected, entitled the “Mirror Universe albums”.
Last week our technicians discovered a signal that is believed to originate from a 3rd, yet unknown universe. The sonic waves coming from this zone are deeply disturbing. The dread legion had assembled upon the spot of their summoning, bound to the place by ancient tonal magics and the shared purpose of their existence. Called to this place they had been by their leader, one who even in death retained the formidable talents that he had cultivated in life. The legion’s gaze centered upon him as he ascended the rough hewn pedestal at the center of their gathering, crafted from an amalgamation of headstones and sarcophagi that had once borne both their names and physical bodies. Trapped within such material prisons no longer, they watched with the unbreakable focus of the dead as their caller rose before them, taking his place within the ritual that would unbind them all from their accursed grave.

The incantation began slowly as its guttural tonalities rung out with supernatural force, shivering the ground beneath the legions feet in rhythmic pulses set to counter the magic that bound them here. The legion began to move in accordance with the thrumming beat beneath them, amplifying its power with their every footfall. Then from the caller came a sound most piercingly shrill, which seemed to cleave the very heavens above with the razor sharp edges of its harmonic hiss. The clouds gave way not to skies but to stars, which bore down light from their otherworldly realms that came to a point upon the caller’s own pedestal. With one final cue, the leader raised up his arms and his legion followed in suit, preparing for the moment that would grant them their freedom. With a luminous flash all present swept their arms down, at the moment of the peak in their crescendo of sound. When the brilliance had faded the legion had already spread far, united under the light of a single rockstar.

COD3X leads the EATBRAIN horde from center stage with his ROCK THE SHOW EP as he delivers a trio of his latest tracks for the label’s second triple digit release. Following his previous Illegal Sound EP on the label, as well as appearances within its Divergence compilation series, ROCK THE SHOW spans the neurofunk spectrum from its funkiest to most tech-influenced ends as COD3X shines in the spotlight for the latest release from EATBRAIN.

The fires of the NEUROPUNK FORGE alight once more with the arrival of the WARHEAD EP, the latest release from rising Russian duo DESPERSION on NEUROPUNK RECORDS. Established in 2017, the duo have seen previous releases on a variety of labels including Ignescent, 0101 and Kill Tomorrow, within which they have displayed their development of a style that blends complex melodic motifs with aggressive percussive and bassline sequences for a synthesis formed of these two often disparate sounds. Now making their NEUROPUNK RECORDS debut, DESPERSION deliver four tracks in this signature style to create the latest set of auditory weapons straight from the NEUROPUNK FORGE.

Opened by the minor chords and arpeggios of the title track of the same name, the WARHEAD EP quickly erupts with low end weight leavened by the interspersion of melodic reprisals of its opening theme. The deceptively named PEACE which follows provides a slice of scathing neurofunk marked by the tonalities of the distorted hornlike synth that blasts above its rapidly moving bassline. OFFENSIVE next delivers an explosive barrage of transient percussive impacts that fall with perfectly planned precision amongst the tracks chaotic upper atmosphere. Closing the EP is I NEED YOU NOW, which departs from the hard charging energy of its predecessors to deliver a flowing vocal cut emblematic of DESPERSION’s melodic abilities.

With the WARHEAD EP, DESPERSION deliver a dynamic debut on NEUROPUNK RECORDS, showing a deft ability to craft beautiful melodic sequences and works of utmost sonic aggression in equal measure, marking themselves as a duo to watch as they emerge from the NEUROPUNK FORGE.
