SFEER00002 - DJ Local B (GER)

Ole, 23 years of age and known as DJ Local B, developed a fascination for the Braunschweig techno scene at a young age, sneaking into clubs at 15. Over the years, he became an integral part of the local scene with his collective. When selecting tracks for his sets, Local B prioritizes grooviness and melody, insisting on the essential trance offbeat bassline and expressing a weakness for trance pop and edits, all centered around ensuring good vibes.

Reflecting on a memorable moment in his DJing career, Local B shared an experience from Trance-Force One by Sachsentrance, where technical difficulties initially unnerved him. Despite a hiccup with the player, the set turned out to be a cool and unforgettable experience.

In terms of preparation, Local B creates a setlist with a mix of new tracks and ever-greens, planning only the opening and closing tunes. He prefers spontaneous, freer sets, allowing him to better respond to the crowd. Adapting to different venues and audiences involves adjusting his sets based on playtime and the acts before and after him, with outdoor events featuring a more playful and slower sound.

Inspiration for Local B comes from DJ Heartstring's sound and the eurodance style with disco elements. Currently, his favorite tracks include Lumidee's "Never Leave You (Spacer Woman Edit)," DJ Equipment's "Geiz Ist Geil," Cheese Louise's "Watch Me Dance," and Jaw's "Feel It."

Regarding BPM preferences, Local B finds the perfect speed between 150 and 160 BPM. Recalling a unique set experience, he shared an amusing yet annoying incident of a guy repeatedly grabbing his CDJs while dancing behind him.

Discussing the evolution of the techno music scene, Local B highlighted the significant trance hype, noting its influence even on rap and pop music. Excitingly, he mentioned upcoming projects with 5euroGoldi and a second feature with Trancemaster Krause.

For aspiring techno DJs, Local B's advice is simple: "Always do what you love! Make music for you, not for clicks." Regarding his experience playing for SFEERBEHEER, he expressed great satisfaction with his first gig, praising the professional and supportive team and expressing eagerness to return in 2024.
