High Sparrows is a progressive indie pop rock band flying high in the Land of the Long White Cloud.


A magical collaboration between five passionate musicians, the Auckland-based band has a strong and ever-growing following on the city’s live music circuit.

The members of High Sparrows, each with many years of solo and group experience, came together and honed their craft at the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand. With two consummate entertainers out front sharing lead vocals and guitar, the five talented friends combine the best of hip hop, rap, progressive technical rock and mainstream pop.

They proudly acknowledge influences ranging from British bands Arctic Monkeys and The Kooks to Californian progressive rockers Chon. But these New Zealanders are no imitators. Their sound is their own. Their tight musicianship is their own. Their showmanship is their own.

And as for the party atmosphere for which High Sparrows gigs are renowned … that, it must be said, is everyone’s!
