Artist’s Note – SKINSHIP

This song is a reflection of myself in my early twenties, dancing and having fun without caring what anyone thought.

I still clearly remember the shock of going to a club for the first time.

The sound from the massive speakers hit me in a way I’d never felt before.
It wasn’t just hearing music with my ears, it was feeling it through my skin.
That day completely changed how I thought about music.

That experience feeling music on a physical level, ended up inspiring the name I use now: SKINSHIP.

사람들을 의식하지 않고 춤추며 놀았던 20대 초반의 저 자신을 생각하며 만든 노래입니다.

태어나서 처음으로 클럽을 갔을 때의 충격은 아직도 기억에 남는데요.
큰 스피커들로부터 피부로 와 닿았던 소리 하나하나에 ‘음악은 귀로 듣는다’ 라는 일반적인 생각이 처음 깨졌던 날이기도 했죠.

음악을 귀로 듣는 게 아닌 피부로 느꼈던 경험은 이후 활동명을 SKINSHIP(스킨십)으로 정하게 된 시발점이 되었습니다.

It was one of those chilly October days, and for some reason, I was feeling a little low.
I wanted to write something that could warm the heart.

This track is filled with sounds I love, so in a way, it’s probably the most “me” kind of song.

I hope that someone out there can feel a bit of the warmth I felt while making it.
That’s what led me to write this song.

쌀쌀해지던 10월.
왠지 모르게 기분이 많이 가라앉아 있던 시기.
마음이 따뜻해질 수 있는 곡을 쓰고 싶었습니다.

제가 좋아하는 소리들로 가득 채운 저 다운 트랙이라고 생각해 주시면 될 것 같습니다.

누군가는 이 곡을 듣고 잠시라도 제가 느꼈던 따뜻함을 함께 느꼈으면 좋겠어요.
그게 제가 이 곡을 쓴 이유이기도 하니까요.

Artist’s Note – SKINSHIP & Flances

Time To Disco started with a simple idea:
“I want to make a song that anyone can enjoy easily.”

It’s an EDM track with a disco vibe, filled with romance.
We really wanted it to be a song that feels good to listen to, whether you're a kid, a teen, or even part of our parents’ generation.

Since the track is full of timeless disco vibes, we like to picture ourselves in the future, when we’re older, maybe with kids of our own, still listening to this track, still dancing to it with a smile.

Time To Disco는 “누구나 편하게 즐길 수 있는 곡을 쓰고싶다” 라는 생각에서부터 시작해 
낭만과 로맨틱함을 담아내려했던 디스코튠의 EDM입니다.

남녀노소 어린아이부터 부모님 세대까지, 기분 좋게 들을 수 있는 곡이 되었으면합니다.

시대를 풍미하는 디스코라는 장르의 특징을 많이 담은 곡인만큼

저희 역시도 나이가 들었을 때, 또 자식이 생겼을 때도

기분좋게 이 곡을 듣고 춤을 추고있는 모습을 상상하게되네요.

Artist’s Note – Calfskin
When I was little, at an age when jumping around and playing was all I cared about, piano was the first thing that taught me how to truly focus on something.
Drawn in by the sound of the keys, I’d spend hours sitting in front of sheet music.

It’s been more than a decade since those days, and though the way I express sound and the way I approach variety has changed, the instinctive feel in my fingertips from those early years still remains with me as a comforting habit.

Bubble Gum could be categorized as an EDM track, but to be honest, I didn’t start with a specific genre or direction in mind.

Rather than fitting it into a theme, I’d say it’s simply a natural expression of who I am right now.

To some, it might just be another song nothing too special, something that simply passes by.

But even the ordinary and the fleeting are valid forms of being, and that’s enough.

Lately, I’ve been hoping this track can lift someone’s mood, the way bubble gum once brought me sweetness and comfort when I was young.

어릴 적, 방방 뛰어노는 것이 즐거울 나이였던 저에게, 피아노는 사실 무언가에 몰입하는 법을 처음으로 알려준 선생님이었습니다.

건반 소리에 끌려 하루 종일 악보 앞에 앉아 있던 나날들로부터 십수 년이 흘러, 소리를 표현하는 방식도, 다양함을 대하는 태도도 많이 바뀌었지만,
아무것도 모르던 그 시절, 자연스레 익숙해진 손끝의 감각들은 지금까지도 저에게 기분 좋은 습관으로 남아있습니다.

이번 곡 ‘버블 껌’ 은 이디엠이라는 장르로 분류될 수 있는 트랙이지만, 사실 그 시작과 과정에서 귀속을 바라지는 않았습니다.

특정 테마로 구분 짓기보단 단순히 지금의 저를 자연스럽게 표현한 곡에 가깝다고 말하고 싶습니다.

어쩌면 누군가에게는 별일 없거나 흘러가는 하나의 음악일 수 있지만, 별일 없는 것도 흘러가는 것도 모두 ‘존재’의 한 모습이니 괜찮습니다.

어릴 적 달콤함을 든든하게 챙겨주었던 풍선껌처럼 이곡을 계속 들으며 기분이 좋아지고 신났으면 하는 요즘입니다.
