After successful releases on High Tide Recordings back in 2020 and 2022 we welcome back Monty Ozanne, the 28 year old DJ & producer from London, England and an all round nice guy!

With various parties and events on the South Coast of the UK as his inspiration, Monty has honed his sound in House and Techno, taking big inspiration for tracks which are both melodic and very dance floor friendly.

Monty is an extremely quiet guy, he doesn’t do socials and he doesn’t have millions of Tik Tok followers, but we love his music and that’s all that matters.

Having enjoyed many more hours in the studio over the last 6 months and continuing to hone their sound, Collective States return to High Tide Recordings following their last release for the label, The Abyss E.P. back in the summer of 2021.

Wanting to produce first class electronic music has always been their modus operandi, and the next logical step in their progression was to broaden their horizons via collaborations with other artists and singer songwriters. Releasing Chemical Reaction on Stil Vor Talent with the vocal talents of Annabel Simpson and Liz Cass (Pablo:Rita) kickstarted this part of their journey.

Then, the guys stumbled upon Bristol (UK) based Leo Wood whilst flicking through Spotify and listening to some Anjunadeep back catalogue. She can best be described as the lovechild of Florence & The Machine and Adele, and when you listen to the vocal mix of Praying For You you’ll see why.

It is a deep and moody house roller with a vocal that sends shivers down the spine. The synths are majestic and the vibes cosmic as you're lifted off your feet and taken on a trip. It also comes as a dub mix and radio mix and then its The Rift, a more dark and driving tune with chunky drums and tribal percussion. Another superb vocal is sweet and emotive, as well as alluring to drag you into the heart of the groove.

Hoten brings Back To Life on the Hide Tide Recordings label with a remix from Dosem making this a vital package. He has released on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound and Stereo Productions in the past and never disappoints. Dosem is another massive talent with huge hits on esteemed imprints like Ajnunadeep, Truesoul, and Bedrock.

Back To Life is a heavy house cut with lots of textures in the drums and percussion. The bassline is much more smooth and deep rolling so locks you in before the cosmic pads add the colour. It's a track to stir the soul with a spine tingling breakdown. Back To Life (Dosem Remix) is more dark and stripped back. It has a steely edge to it and sense of tension that makes the trip that bit more involving.

This is a superb two tracker from all.

U.S.U.R.A  - Open Your Mind - Sleeperhold's Recall Booty (featured on Annie Mac)

The High Tide label is back with a new EP from Mongo. Featuring two killer cuts and a fine remix from UK techno champ Alan Fitzpatrick, it is the fourth release from the label and is sure to cause a storm.

Planet Mongo is the first original and it is a spritely techno track with nice airy hi hats. A nice chord sequence slowly steps down the scales and brings a subtle sense of joy as sweeping synths all round add to the drama. It has already been getting great support play from Carl Cox,Eats Everything and James Zabiela amongst others, and is sure to be a massive summer track!

The remix from the Drumcode man and modern techno heavyweight Alan Fitzpatrick is a slow burner that builds up a fine head of steam. The drums are rock solid, there is tension and menace in the grooves and some female vocals really add an element of fire. John Digweed has been heavily supporting this mix.

Otherside is the other original and is a gurgling deep techno track with supple and subtle synth lines wriggling away over tech drums. It is a heads down number filled with style and closes out a top EP.

UK label High Tide welcomes Caruana and Charlie Oak for one track each, while Wheats and Collective States all remix on an EP being called South Coast Allstars. The Southampton label is well respected for its parties, and now grows ever more essential with each hot new releases. With early support from Alan Fitzpatrick, Steve Lawler, Detlef, Richy Ahmed, Mat.Joe, Darin Epsilon and more, this one is one to watch! 

Alan Fitzpatrick - "top stuff here, defo gonna hammer this!"

Caruana opens up with Focus, five driving minutes of house music with wonky synths and popping little details. Fat bass underpins it all and is sure to get that floor working itself into a sweat. The Wheats remix is more techno focussed, with darker synths and thundering claps powering you late into the night. 

On the flip, Clanga from Charlie Oak then takes a shadowy path with dry hits and spooky chords. Its an electrifying tech tune for darkened warehouses and the wordless female vocals are utterly enchanting and when some big piano chords arrive later on it really goes off. Last of all, this one gets remixed by Collective States who layer in more stand and make it a more driving and kinetic affair. 

This is another vital outfit for this tastemaking UK outlet.

High Tide Recordings set sail once again with a new EP from Stuart King, and a remix from Collective States. This long time dance veteran is best known as one half of Sunday Club but when going solo is a regular at clubs like Space and Warung and has his own slick sound.

Opener Maze is a cheeky house bumper with a great bassline that bobbles along beneath airy vocals. Sci-fi pads flesh out the groove with real atmosphere and then Collective States remix it into a frazzled and late night burner for those who like grizzled beats.

After the dub mix which is piano laced and wrought with cosmic synth tension is the Other Remix, which is more spooky an eerie, with deep basslines rolling over warm drums and carrying you off into the night.

This is another rich house EP from one of the best.

The Chrome Dome EP is a collection of early studio works found floating around on their ever burgeoning hard drive. In our opinion both Chrome Dome and Amity suit early doors, with Droid heading towards more of a time peak vibe.

High Tide is a collective of great friends, seasoned promoters and we like to think accomplished DJs!  We have regularly performed alongside our peers including the likes of Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Groove Armada, Jamie Jones, Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Hot Since 82, Steve Lawler, Skream, Annie Mac, Kolsch, Pete Tong and Dubfire to name but a few as well as locally based pals James Zabiela and Alan Fitzpatrick.  We’ve put on some cracking parties too, our most infamous being the High Tide Boat Parties from Southampton in the UK.

With an endearing love for electronic music and some positive traction from the producers within our ranks it has been a long time coming for High Tide Recordings.  We don’t give a flying f#*k about making money (lets hope we don’t lose too much though ☺), but if we get to release great underground dance music, educate ourselves in the process and have fun along the way we’ll be more than happy.
