Over The Moon is proud to present our very first release, a deeply intimate exploration into downtempo realms from the ever dynamic producer Keerd. Thoughtfully constructed, melodic and alternating between ambient and sophisticated beat-driven explorations, Lost in a Daydream invites the listener to explore the spectrum of human emotions, where dark and kinetic spaces evolve into light.

“Lost in a Daydream is a reflection of my life for the last year or so. Being stuck in isolation for so long made it easy for my mind to wander down a dark path, looking at things with a bitter perspective, and wishing for things that weren't there. Most of the titles on the release were relevant to how I was feeling or what I was going through as I wrote the tunes. Completing this release has really helped me overcome the feeling of general sadness and wishful thinking I was experiencing and start to change my outlook in a more positive light. This release feels more personal to me than anything I've released before and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.” - Alex Keerd

This track is an ode to the age old language which connects us all: DNA.

It is an ode to the continued growth and evolution of the human species. It is an offering of gratitude and an acknowledgement of the unbroken lineage of life from which we stem and are inextricably linked.

This song was written and recorded to the song 'vines' off the album 'safe in the steep cliffs' by Emancipator, an artist who continually inspires me as a writer and a person. (While I don't have his explicit permission, the song is not for sale and is for promotional use only.)

I wrote, recorded, and mixed the lyrics myself, using GarageBand and a Shure SM7B Microphone. I mastered the track on LANDR.com, a really nifty FREE online mastering service. Considering the track is DIY with incredibly simple and accessible equipment, I believe it's a testament to what we can do in the modern day age with basic tools and resources.
