Makèz have come a long way since they first sneaked into Amsterdam’s studio 80 at the age of 17 to hand over their demos to Dam Swindle. Those demos led to their debut EP ‘Different planets’on Heist in 2019 which gained major support from artists like Seth Troxler and Chez Damier. Quickly after, they signed two records on New York based label Let’s Play House. Fast forward two years, and here we are with their debut album.
 
‘City Of All’ shows a level of sophistication and matureness, effortlessly bridging genres across its thirteen cuts. You can feel the thought that has been put into this record, with tracks blending into each other as Makèz submerge themselves in their concept of accidental encounters, inclusiveness and what it means to live in a city like Amsterdam.  
 
On this album, Makèz bring together all the musical influences they’ve picked up in their life as music fans, clubbers, and art students. The jazz-funk of opening track ‘The Entrance’, feels breezy and casual, like freeform rhythms played in a jazz club soundcheck. Energy oozes from ‘Not So Different’, featuring the smooth vocals of LYMA. There’s a hint of the house-meets-R’n B vibe that made Anderson .Paak the star that he is now. Brilliantly funky, this song shows the talent of Makèz, who cleverly use pop & soul cues to create one of the album’s highlights. 
 
What follows is four cuts ranging from the syncopated Balearic funk of ‘Orbit’, the strings of title track ‘City Of All’, the organ-led, ‘Gonna Getya’ and the downbeat ‘Sonder’. Allysha Joy, as part of Melbourne Hip Hop collective 30/70, features on the deep and jazzy ‘Looking Up’.  If Makèz and Allysha are all looking up, it’s clear they’re seeing the same thing! These kindred spirits perfectly complement each other, the deep bass, warm harmonies and jazzy percussion prove to be a perfect foundation for Allysha’s rhymes.
 
Is it an album all about jazz and soul to listen to at home? Far from it. There are dance floor-oriented tracks, where the distorted filter funk of ‘Roselane’ featuring Fouk, proves to be a highlight along with what is arguably the heaviest cut of the album ‘Bent With Funk’.
 
In an EP context, these house tracks would surely do their work, but they really come to life in this album. No compromise has been made to storytelling and the house tracks all play their part while still standing their ground in a club. 
The expert production and smart arrangement gives this collection its casually funky feel.  On ‘City Of All’ Makèz showcase their remarkable talent for writing an album that goes to so many different places, but most of all, just really feels like home.

The tenth reference of LATIDO comes from the hand of Durand & Kadriana. Durand has a good bunch of previous releases on labels like Nein Records, Factor City, Logical Records or Esthetique to name just a few. For this new reference in LATIDO, Durand is joined by Kadriana, who is in charge of the vocal part of the tracks. 

The entire ep clearly sounds 80s. The synths, bass lines and melodies take you back to the New Wave and Synth Pop sound of the eighties. "Blood & Honey" is made up of three original tracks steeped in dark desires, mysterious daydreams and vampires conspiring on a retro-futuristic dance floor. 

Alongside the three original tracks are two fabulous remixes by bosses Fabrizio Mammarella and Undo. Both artists have been able to perfectly read the meaning of the EP, and their remixes fit perfectly with the overall sound of this release. 

With "Blood & Honey" you will sing, dance, and feel like the protagonist of a science fiction movie starring John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream.

For their 4th session, Dubmission Records presents mixes by artists they've released this month: from Finland, Dreadlock Tales with a Mantra Dub set; from New Zealand, Shankara NZ with a live lockdown show.

For his second album on Dubmission, 'Among Aliens and Gods,' Tor.Ma in
Dub has added experiences from his life to the various musical styles he
has developed over the years, creating a biography of bass that
incorporates his love of sci-fi movies and the books of H.P. Lovecraft,
the recent birth of his daughter, and a spectrum of other powerful life
experiences.
The resulting compositions blend the hypnotic rhythms of global dub with
the twisted atmospheres of psychedelic electronica to create a funky,
bass-driven interpretation of 21st-century dub music. Broken apart and
reshuffled into new and exotic arrangements based on its unmistakable
dub roots, 'Among Aliens and Gods’ is a life-affirming adventure into
bass that is in one moment revelrous and in the next a deeply meditative
experience.
Come aboard, but come prepared — there is no turning back once this
kaleidoscopic journey begins!

Mi nombre es Hugo Viloria, a.k.a High Vibes, nací en Ciudad de México y desde 2007 vivo en Córdoba, España.
Desde que era niño, mi pasión ha sido la música. Siempre me han interesado los diferentes estilos musicales y después de haber tenido la oportunidad de viajar y conocer diversos países, hoy puedo decir que la música electrónica es mi ser.
Como DJ, mi objetivo principal es hacer bailar a la gente y disfrutar de varios estilos dentro de la música electrónica. Mi carrera de DJ empezó en el 2009 y empecé a producir mis propios temas en 2014. Por el momento me concentro en cuatro estilos: Techno, House, Disco, Future Disco y otros ritmos. Aunque podría decir, que mis preferencias musicales evolucionan de acuerdo al desarrollo de mi carrera profesional y mi persona.
En el 2015 co fundé un proyecto que lleva por nombre NOISE, que es un movimiento que impulsa la escena Underground en Córdoba Capital.
