being obsessed with a song is like living a dream and a dream is like passing notes in class: the dream rarely tells you its meaning directly. the message is expressed obliquely and in metaphor. 
dreams are metaphorical because they have to get past defenses from childhood trauma--tyrannical parents. family, teachers, state or government or anything else that is genuinely oppressive that doesn't permit truth to be uttered directly. 

things like nostalgia and obsession can be explored such that there is hope for these feelings revealing themselves with their connections to concrete thoughts and possible actions.

whenever someone says that they are "obsessed" with a person, i am thinking they have these advanced capabilities for intimacy and depth.

in that case it is perhaps better to hold on tight to your highest of values and maintain clarity by reminding yourself to live your life according to your highest values. you will find your place and people in this way.

perhaps you have no home. perhaps you have been shunned from home. perhaps philosophy is your home. welcome to the true aristocracy.
