“When I signed SCNTST (Bryan Müller) he was about to turn 17 years old and by that time he was already making really good techno, house and breaks tracks. BNR released his first 2 EPs “Monday” and “Premelodic Structures” and he started touring the world. Within the following 2 years his production skills and taste developed into an open electronic sound which beauty is to combine basically anything possible. Bryan grew up in Germany outside of Munich and quit his school early to commit 100% to his love of making music. Following recent releases for Parisian institution Ed Banger Records, a huge collaboration with rising vocalist Meleka, and his own Battle Weapons free download series tailored for the dancefloor, the UK’s resident genre-blurring boy wonder, Riton aka Henry Smithson, announces a brand new EP for Nest.

Title track ‘I Am The Whisper’ finds Bad Guy Ri Ri in a darker, deeper mode than previous releases, with vaguely sinister spoken word vocals from London-based singer/songwriter Molly Beanland peppering a propulsive beat and acid stabs. “I’m warning you, once we start we’ll never stop,” she threatens. B-side ‘Dance With Moi’ punches hard from the get go, expertly melding techno, electro and house influences in true Riton style.

Layton Giordani is up next with his trademarked shadowy sound and impeccable arrangement, offering yet another angle of attack. Last but not least are Loco &amp; Jam dubbing things out with bursts of references to the original in key moments, while maintaining a rocksteady vibe sprinkled with discordant stabs.</p>

Paride Saraceni’s debut Truesoul release, ‘Burning’, brings us three uplifting and vocal-heavy tech house tracks. A steady groove throughout, Saraceni’s choice of instrumentation and flowing percussion create a melodic yet techy release with all three tracks laced with a solid kick drum, tinkering high hats and sporadic vocals. ‘Burning’ is is the perfect offering for the new year and proves there are big things on the horizon for Saraceni.

Dutch producer and DJ Reinier Zonneveld is racking up accolades about as fast as new fans are losing their shit to his far reaching beats. Having already released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label and the ever-influential Traum Schalplatten, Zonneveld’s latest, an EP titled Rushchamber, is out on the increasingly important Stil Vor Talent, an imprint run by tastemaker Oliver Koletzki.

The 3-track EP captures the variation Zonneveld is known for and kicks off with “Sharp Bust,” a careening, pure techno number with detuned horns and whirring rushes. The titular track 2, “Rushchamber,” weaves in groovier house influences in the beat, and “Flatchat” levels off somewhere in the middle. The collection reflects the wide palate that Zonneveld, who was raised on classical music, brings to the studio. 

Reinier Zonneveld - Sharp Bust

Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.
