DT PREMIERE: Pluto Junkies - Black Eye Galaxy Battle [Pinkman] (2023)

Gladio Operations inaugurates 2023 with its seventh release titled “Split Machine”, a new series of shared EPs, where in this first episode the producers Jauzas The Shining and Cycloplex go halves on the EP.

The French producer returns to Gladio with three cuts which possess his peculiar and characteristic rugged sound. The EP launches with "Business Machines” and “Isla De Encanto”, two powerful cuts with aggressive and noticeable basslines filled-up with dark textures. Jauzas gifts us a last cut titled “Equation”, a nod to the EBM sound, where he preserves the same darkness as in the previous cuts.

On side B we encounter the Spanish producer Francisco Aguado, who has recently released his first work under the "Cultivated Electronics" label under his new electro alias, Cycloplex. With two cuts titled “Intercepted” and “Acid Machine”, Cycloplex reveals his particular minimalist vision of electro sound in an abstract journey of excellent monotonous rhythms.

Following split EPs from DeFeKT and Rico Casazza, plus Tripeo and Cycloplex, Cultivated Electronics Ltd (CE's vinyl only sister label), returns with Volume 3 of their in demand 'For the Floor' series.

As the name suggests all the tracks in the series are primed for the dance floor with Volume 3 featuring two more tracks apiece from two artists making waves in the Electro sphere.

Electro heads should already be very familiar with Scand resident, Steve Allman who's also released stellar tracks on Soma's sister-label, Avoidant and A-Future's EON label. Following up on a pair of killer EPs from UK electro and techno legends Ben Pest and Kronos Device, No Static / Automatic label boss Ara-u steps up next with a heavy new solo EP - “No Information No Statistics”. Fast gaining recognition for his raw and heavy hitting machine funk forms, Venezuelan electro producer Ara-u serves up four new dancefloor growlers on this hefty four track offering.

Opener ‘No Information’ kicks the EP off with a sassy low slung groove taking us deep into the dystopian vision of electronic sound that underpins the release. ‘Sub Implosion’ follows with a shuffling broken beat fully locked down in a gripping paranoid energy.

On the second half of the EP Ara-u ramps the BPM up a level. ‘The Watchdog’ belts out a stripped back beat against whomping hoover bass. ‘Intoxication’ finishes off the EP on a kicking electro bass groover keeping that paranoid energy high with the warehouse floor at its core of being.

The Spy is on a mission for the 8th Kri release and it ends with a bang. Similar to Wessel's releases on Mechatronica and Osare! Editions, his signature sound keeps evolving by melting electro, EBM and wave into a hypnotising dystopian soundtrack.

His Kri debut is named Halt and Hack and it ranges from melancholic EBM-ish slow burners to mutated wave-meets-electro anthems, rounded with a nostalgic remix by the mighty Zement operator Kluentah.

Available as limited lathe-cut vinyl and digitally on 17th of May 2024.
