While writing scores for Arlyn Dela Cruz's #TibakTheMovie and developing the song Panata (Isinulat ni Ali Ariesgado and originally titled as Panata at Pag-ibig) we came up with Pordalab's version of it. This version features the voice of our vocalist Boogs Villareal and a different arrangement from the one rendered for the movie.

Two years (and counting) into Pres. Rodrigo Duterte's term, attacks against the civil, political, economic, and sovereign rights of the Filipino people continue unabated.

These are perpetrated by the very President entrusted with the protection of these rights. After securing a 2016 election victory on the strength of campaign promises to rid the country of illegal drugs and corruption and to push for genuine social justice and social change, Duterte has instead left a trail of broken vows and unmitigated dictatorial acts that only showcased his contempt and disregard for civil liberties and human rights.

The "Magliliyab" initiative started in July of 2018 as a collective response from members of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP). Supporting the call to Stop The Attacks, “Magliliyab” is a collaborative piece that debuted as the live soundtrack to the burning of Pres. Duterte’s effigy at the United People’s SONA on July 23, 2018.

The "Magliliyab" launch concides with the start of formal proceedings of the International Peoples' Tribunal PH (IPT) on September 17, 2018 now in Brussels, Belgium. The IPT charges Pres. Duterte and US Pres. Donald Trump and transnational institutions of various Crimes Against the Filipino People.

"Magliliyab" isn't just a creative response against both foreign and domestic attacks being endured by the people under the current administration. It is an indictment and a call to action for all concerned citizens, fellow Filipinos, and members of the international community to help resist, prevent, and fight the coming of yet another full-blown, fascist dictatorship in the Philippines.
