This is a song I wrote about my Mother in Law who recently passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer. This is her story, from the perspective of her daughters... I'm thinking of releasing this under another project of acoustic stuff...

She saw a borrowed wedding dress
And imagination swept her mind away
To fantasies of family
And children she was yet to meet
To the man her father's hand gave her away

Her mother was a writer
Her father just a boy
Their two sons and a daughter
Were their joy
And life goes round again

Now tapestries and bric-a-brac
Her house a thousand photographs
That's a million words to sum the old cliché
With calligraphic verses
That remind me to be this or that
She soaks us leaves to pass the time away

Now her children all have children
Her folks are with the Lord
Her legacy in pictures on a wall

This was on the day she held her daughter's hand
Although she didn't understand
And this was her just living out
What faith and love is all about
This was when we fought all day
But she said she loved me anyway
This was on the day she didn't have the words to say

Now every photograph I see
Triggers a thousand memories

I'm reminded every day
Some wisdom or a verse to pray
Raising loving children of my own
And I don't know if she could see
The impact of her legacy
The seeds of faith
Her influence has sewn

Now her children all have children
And they all love the Lord
They’re so much more than pictures on her wall

It's come to mind a lot these days
"We don't have a soul we are a soul"
These temple walls are growing old
And in the time it takes to write a song
Another precious month has gone
And we don't know for sure how long
Years or maybe days

But this is not the end
