Sinalco Fluor S in their best days with one of their and my favourites, playing at the "jung und wild" festival live in saarbrücken 1981

volker jenal sings and treats that e-piano. he's not part of the band that later recorded the only vinyl by the band "Sinalco Fluor S" named "klone" which sounds more like the at the same time active version of "fehlfarben". 

not as the rude first band named after a soft-drink enterprise (sinalco) and the chemical plus of a well-known toothpaste. 

when the band played their first rehearsals django reinhard improvisations were as well part of the setlist as songs, they sharpened their own material on - band favourites like the t rex classic "20th century boy" or ian hunter's "bastard", their later constant opener for the shows as declaration of their "roots".

the stuff loved by the band oscillated between the can, the clash, the tubes, xtc, talking heads, television, kevin coyne to 70ies roots rock, linton kwesi johnson, aswad and steel pulse (playing that year in a near town) included. the punky side of the party, but rootsy as well.

mike, the solo guitarist, was a guitar-teacher that time, able playing accoustic etudes brasilian style as "the butterfly" but in electric terrains preferring playing a more talking heads influenced rhythm guitar. 

second guitarist, steve, had moments where he showed everything that makes a "guitar hero" - rough, rude, self aware and as narzistic a young man can be. great! 

and the solid ground and rhythm twins: martin & dirk and their hinterwald understanding of beeing of  "sly & robbie". not trying - beeing ...

a great punk band those early days. they never went "professional" but they were jewels lost in time.

this is the band, volker (ex member of sinalco fluor s) joined later on before recording his first and only single as "7Roberts". 

it's pure fun and energy, some b52s or iggy pop influences - but first of all: a great track by an also forgotten band, never released on any kind of profession level.

15 Five Baby Pisseuses - I Go Shopping (9th Hinterwald Free Festival 1989)

Another great song by "Les Five Babies Pisseuses" where v7 played his e-piano. 

taken from their demo tape, they never released more than that and disappeared in oblivion.

a german band later named "throw that beat in the garbage can" had a similiar sound and attitude but was not related with "les five babies pisseuses". great stuff also, btw. enjoy ie. "you only think of me (when there's nothing on tv") available on "real records". stuff you can buy to save them from oblivion too as one of the hidden treasures of german rock music. like the GDR version of "Der Plan": "AG Geige",  "ihre kinder" who first gave rock a german tongue, "the food band", never released on cd and many, many, many more.

16 Five Baby Pisseuses - I Ride My Dog (Demo 1989)

a triebwagen song written by "sinalco fluor s" member mike with the simple question in plain dialekt: "oh, why i didn't kept my stupid mouth shut?" and - as most of the times in classic triebwagen tales  - it offers once more the sad freak-brothers-styled loser as storyteller who - this time for the worse - makes provocative remarks in a bar where nobody likes hippies and dumb questions. 

even of a sad story - it's touching carnival or hymnic song qualities as well.





19 Triebwagen - Mei bleedie Fress gehall (live at 3rd Hinterwald Free Rockfestival 1983)

one more all time triebwagen.classic from the third Hinterwald Free Festival 1983, SBD 2nd generation, the same show the opener of this mix and the following are taken from.

as for most of the "classic" triebwagen-songs there's a (private) comic illustrating the story of climbing up to the top of the mountain, being there alone, meditating on the time passing by. a typical hinterwald situation IMHO. 

a great song, with lyrics from the heart of what "hinterwald" was about and the music reflecting grateful dead as one of their icons and main influences.  


18 Triebwagen - Trink' schön Träumer (live at 2nd Hinterwald Free Rockfestival 1983)

after "Mark III" of "sinalco fluor s" split, mike joined this band, also only recording the demo-tape this track is taken from and a single.

17 Les Hommes Volants - Valley Of The Dolls (Demo)

with "Da härschde" (The Hardest) another evergreen of Triebwagen ends the exerpt from the best show taped for this band

21 Triebwagen - Da härdschde (live at 3rd Hinterwald Free Rockfestival 1983)

"Bin e aama Keenisch" (I'm a poor King) is a carnival traditional, sung by masked children in front of the doors they're knocking to get - yep like on halloween - sweeties "I'm a poor king, dont' give me peanuts, don't let me here stay to long 'causo i have to go along" comes here as a rough rock song.

yet another alltime classic sung in "piddlinga platt", the regional dialekt.

20 Triebwagen - Bin e aama Keenisch (live at 3rd Hinterwald Free Rockfestival 1983)

the second remarkable song by blaedie mae from the first of more than twenty Hinterwald Rockfestivals ... not the best of quality but worth to hear

what's missing here: 

the more "wartungsfrei"-side of the scene like ie. andi arroganti, who wasn't directly involved in the "hinterwald" or "wald & wiesen cowboys"-but came from the same town and ... i saw him sitting in a bus with the famous "quicksilver messenger service: happy trails" lp ... there are common roots but the result was in his specific style of doing the things with a simple casio .. but nevertheless: just great dancemusic, timeless & the result of an individual mind

please let your searchengine look out for this - imho - really great artist who had released some records and opened his works to the net.

18 Triebwagen - Soundcheck Es rääänt de gonze Daach (live at 3rd Hinterwald Free Rockfestival 1983)

as bonus: 

a short part of an over four hours long talk about the hinterwald history preparing the "10 Jahre Dichtung & Wahrheit" mag. just understandable, if you're able to speak "piddlinger platt", so this is the anecdote in few words:

that long hot summer day (play "hot summer day" by "it's a beautiful day" to get the vibes for that)  around ten folks met at "our place", the "sauwasen" in the forrest, everyone - without having this plan made before - surprisingly on "acid", the good ones sent by deadheads from the states.. 

we were painting the mercedes of a friend, on top a speaker played early "the cure" stuff like "killing an arab" ... when  suddenly the police came along to stop our play. they didn't checked we're on acid, even a well smelling joint just beside of them didn't catch their suspicion in any way. 

police: "pull of that noise!" - "that's no noise, officer, that the cure" and so on ...

in the end, their police-car had a "legalize it" sign on its back for some weeks also unremarked by the local guys who quit the place without having us stopped painting the car in beautiful hippie-colors. just kind of a "normal day" at the sauwasen, where hinterwald had it's borthplace-

those where the days, then, folks, no computer, no internet, just mother nature & some real stoned folks having a good time ;-)
